Remove Books

Post by Timus »

How can I remove books from my inventory, or how can I sell them?
Because I want the dark will hat from the Teacher in the quest "The book collection", and I have a lot of "good" books in my inventory.

These are all the books I have. Where can I sell them or how to remove:
- The book of spells
- Three haikus by Miko the Bard
- A Heroes Journey II
- History of the guild
- Jack of Blades
- Creatures of Albion I, II, III
- The Hierarchy of Weapons
- The Other Land
- The Old Kingdom
- The Northern Wastes
- The Dragons
- The Arena

Hello and welcome to the forums, Timus. :)

As for selling books, I'm not too sure how but you could try the charity shop in Snowspire Village (If you play the TLC version).

I'll echo Des' welcome. :)

Like he already said, you can sell books only at the Snowspire Charity shop. However, books are unremovable from your inventory. To complete the Book Collection quest, just speak to the teacher and he will take whatever books he fancies out of your inventory himself and read that to the kids. You don't need to remove them manually. Just continue speaking to him to provide him the books.

He wants to get the dark hat, not just any hat. For that case, you pretty much have to know where the books are and only pick up the evil ones first.

Well, when you offer to donate a book, he'll ask if you're sure on it. If a good book comes up, decline. If a bad book comes up, accept. When I did the quest, I got a random order and was able to go for the bright hat.

Hmm, I didn't know that was possible. Any way to identify which books are evil and which are good? Other than reading them of course. After a couple of runs through the game, all I have gotten was always the bright wizards hat...

It is possible. Tried this a while ago but given the fact that I got both good and bad books, those he requested see-saws between most of the good books and never the bad ones.

And as for the list of bad books, look here.

Wait... is this a TLC only thing or can it be done with the first fable as well (seeing as thats all I have right now).

The book collection quest is in TLC only. There isn't any reason to worry about books in the original Fable.

This quest is the hardest if you ask me. I have this stupid "The Book of Spells" and I can't remove it. The teacher keep telling me that this book isn't for children. if someone know how to get rid of this book (ANY WAY) please tell me. I got Bright Wizard Hat as I wanted but I still need the key to unlock the final chest. Yes I know what's in it: the sword with the hole in the middle. But it is a matter of my principle. Please if you know any shop i can sell this book please tell me.

The headmaster will only ask for the Book of Spells if you don't have any other books that he wants. So you need to find more books.

Thanks. I will try this.
Edit: Still don't wants them. He keeps telling me that "The Book of Spells" isn't for that school.

Perhaps the books you have aren't the ones the headmaster will accept. I do know not all books are accepted. Only certain ones, especially those mentioned on this site's walkthrough.

Indeed. He refused to accept the same book when I offered it to him. Like Des said, I suppose he just doesn't want that particular book.
