Atributes of Aoln et al.
I have just played a game where I charmed Aoln in order to get the belts. having heard that you can Ctrl Q such characters into your party, has anyone made a list of them and their attributes?
To the best of my knowledge, Ctrl-Q was first implemented in BG2, and BG1 does not have any similar cheat code. I suppose it's possible that someone might have compiled a data sheet containing the attributes of all of the NPCs, but I am not aware of any. If I want to see what an NPC "is made of", I use the resource viewer called Infinity Explorer.
Aoln is actually a 3rd Level Innocent with no special equipment. (I assume you had him help you attack the ogre who has the belts you mentioned.) Even if he was a member of your party, he would not be able to advance in level (the game would probably crash if you tried to level him up), and he doesn't have a portrait or a paper doll/avatar on the character record sheet. However, unlike most of the NPCs in BG2 which were created with a template that gave nearly all of them stats of 9 across the board, Aoln has stats 13, 15, 15, 11, 10, 11, which means that he was customized a little bit when he was created.
On a related note, we had some discussion recently about "characters who cheat" in BG2. There are a few specially made characters in BG1 such as Drizzt, Albert, Pride, and Sarevok who are, shall we say, different from any character a player could (legally) create. To me, they are simply special characters who were constructed within the mechanical limits of the game to reflect their special abilities, and their "legality" is a moot point.
