I am replaying DL (1.4) and have reached the area where you need to jump into a swirling wind to recover a Shadow Crystal.
Every time I have been there before, the two Wraith can't be killed...they just keep respawning. This time, I pretty much ignored the wraiths, but some ghouls spawned in the sirling wind room. When I let loose with a blast nova to kill the ghouls, it killed the wraiths as well...and they didn't respawn.
Possible bug? OR perhaps it is possible to kill them if you can destroy them in one shot (my blast nova is pretty insane with 25 ranks in Arcane, plus 11 in Spellfire).

It's good that you managed to get rid of the two annoyances and others.
Get all the way in the back of any corner. Notice the location of the swirling crystal. Time you move and run/jump towards the crystal. Keep holding forward/jump buttons while rapidly hitting the grab button. Just keep trying. And you can stear your direction by moving the mouse.
