Is there a bank in this game where you can store items or something?

Not in the vanilla version, but if you have the game on your computer, you can download a bank mod. It's pretty much the same one as Morrowind had, just type in bank under planetelderscrolls mods.

There's chests in some of the plug-ins you can download like the Theives Den or Wizards Spire where whatever you put in stays there. Or same with any houses you buy in the cities like in Anvil the Manor. As for storing money in it, im not sure... I've always kept my money with me at all times.

The simple answer is that no, there is no bank. If you put your stuff in any container in the game world it will be lost. You need to buy a house and use it for storage. Some of the official mods also have house equivalents, but it's basically the same thing.

Some of the unofficial mods add perma-chests, where nothing is lost.

Actually, I have discovered that if you place items in the chest inside of the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary or in a "Loot Bag" (found throughout cities, there's one right next the the fence's house for the Thieves Guild in Bruma) it will not go away. At least, it didn't for me. :)
