This should be an award. I like mine. We all know where it's from.

It is an award, as I recall. It's given out every year.

Gotta disagree. Typo's are present, not to mention it's rather sadistic to be honest. Spartans were warriors, not mass murderers.

Bloodstalkers Sig is actually pretty decent. Set up to a random and completely off the wall pun, one of the few sigs that made me read it two and a half times.

A quote from a film is terrible. It just means you're not witty enough to makes something up yourself. If it was a humorous quote that other people might chuckle at then that's okay but otherwise it's pointless.

Personally, I'd prefer a less wordy signature, perhaps something like this:

If it's alive, I can kill it.

Nah, I would say:
"If it's alive, grill it!" :p

It's up to you to decide wether I mean "If it's alive, kill it, then grill it" or just grill it alive :D

Signatures with jokes are pretty much always pointless. They are repetitive, because they appear underneath every post that a person makes, so no joke will hold, because they are generally only funny one time.
So it makes sense to put something in your signature you just like a lot, which could happen to be funny. For example, I quite like the first part of dragonwench's signature and that of Fiberfar. (Although the latter one is a bit too big, perhaps but hey ho).
If you happen to like a quote from a movie a lot, that doesn't automatically mean you are not witty enough, so I disagree with you there. But I think you were just biting at the thread starter for being so self-pleased about his "creation". I think you could/should've been more straightforward about this and say something like: "I don't like your signature as it glorifies battle, which I think is primitive and barbaric and also it lacks some interpunction. But I like it even less that you seem so satisfied with yourself that you would think we are going to give you an award for that. Making, essentially, a thread about how clever you are does match your juvenile view on battle." ;)

I don't entirely agree with that, sometimes it's true but not always.
As an example, the second part of my signature actually comes from the film Bladerunner. It is film I like a great deal, and that particular quote has personal meaning for me.
I could easily enough think of a brief line that conveys the same sentiment on my own, but...why reinvent the wheel when it expresses so much the first time? ;)

It just requires longer posts on my part. :p

Anyways, I don't mind signatures from a movie or a book or whatnot. I've seen movies with qoutable content and movies with.... less qoutable content.

That sounds better than what I said. Please excuse my fatigue induced non sense making writing.

@ DW
Although your sig is from a film, it has a sense of something that is emotionally valuable and not just about an ancient civilization being portrayed as merciless and barbaric.

You also haven't posted a thread asking for a reward for it.

Runner up last year (bloody hard with only two nominees as well :p ). What on earth makes you think I'd be nominated again? :D

Well, you do say some funny things once in a while, no, most of the time. So, it is just a matter of finding one worthy enough and I'll nominate it. :D

But what makes someone a good warrior? I suppose it is the ability to kill, and if a warrior is on a battlefield he does his best to kill and, please imagine a long sigh in this slot, and grill as much as possible. Well, what he is doing is taking lives, often following a plan without a question, showing absolutely no regret, and does it all in cold blood without a flinch - and while being armed with gruesome tools.

In other words it fills the definition of murder. And thus the lot of warriors, would be nothing else than a lot of mass murderers.

But human race being a sophisticated race and all. Thus we have terms such as war and battle which seem to work as an excuse to make such violations against human health and life, tolerable, and even amiable.

300, guys with nice abs, blood, and action. The movie wasn’t that bad really, though the first line does lead my mind to think of it as an hardcore porn movie.

Though I’m still quite unsure of what such movie would actually contain.

Oh well…

Meh.

Edit:
Ooh, a cool post count.
