Dragon lag?

Does anyone else experience this? When fighting dragons or other huge monsters the game occasionally slows down into a crawl, barely breaking 3fps. My computer is WAAAY above the recommended specs and the game runs pretty much flawlessly in any other situation except when facing dragons.

Since my computer should have no trouble running this game at all, I'm thinking its more of a problem with the game engine or that I've some settings wrong. Thats why I'm asking, does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? This is making those epic dragon battles into pure pain right now.

Can't help you fix it, but I know what you're talking about. Last run I had everything went smooth everywhere except when facing dragons, or the 100+ duergars I leveled on in Sendais Enclave.

Yes, I do experience this every time I fight something big. I suppose It can't be helped, or we would have heard of some fixpack by now. It is a bit of a bugger, I agree, and I can't help wondering if it was made on purpose, like a very artificial mean to make the fight harder, because the dragons are not slowed down as much as your party.

this is not on "purpose" i encounter this problem too,
if i cast timestop nad improved acclerity for example, and i spam my spells ( MMs, Fireball, etc.)

the engine is not "made" for this therefor the CPU extent of utilization goes to its maximum
