Post by Borodin »

Does anyone have info. on this set......specifically, I've heard conflicting stories as to whether anything in this series, except Dale 2, will even play on Windows XP ?
Does anyone know for sure ????

Both of the games should work fine in WinXP, at least when using compatibility mode. I've never had problems with either games, and I have both the games separated version and teh versions came with "Forgotten Realms" collection.

It's possible that there are some minor problems with IWD1 and XP, as IWD1 is rather old game, but at least IWD2 should play without problems in XP. But both games do work, as I've played them both with my new comp.

I have it and played the first Icewind Dale with its two expansions without any problem on Windows XP. (Note that the second expansion is not included in the pack, but you can download it for free.) Haven't played IWD II yet, but since the others worked fine, you shouldn't expect any problem with it.

So don't worry about XP compatiblity. :)

I have the collection and run XP, and both games work perfectly.
