Xbox 360 Rec's?
Xbox 360 Rec's?
Hope the mod doesn't mind. I looked about and thought this thing would be allowed.
I've got the 360, but unfortunately, I'm having some trouble finding new games. For sixty bucks a pop, I'd sure like some feedback from folks that have been there.
My squick is that I don't generally like first person shooters. As silly as it is, guns, real and game worlds, freak me out. Extreme intensity is just not my thing. I much prefer swordplay than gun shows. Ones with plot are great: I enjoyed Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, TES 3 and 4, Assassin's Creed, and the few minutes I played Darkness was interesting. The common theme here I guess is the paced combat, and the ability to use tactics or stealth to reach objectives. Can anyone give a nod to some games like these?
Also, if it's an older game, I don't mind buying over Amazon. Used and cheaper ones are just fine, so even if its an older title then I'll take a look. To anyone kind enough to give their time, you have my immense gratitude!

Why don't you give him a little more detail? Not about you, but about the game. Explain why it's worth getting.Loki[D.d.G] wrote:I'll state the obvious. ME.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

'Course. Right, first off, ME is the work of prestigious BioWare, whom some people consider the masters of RPG. Since you liked TES 3 and 4, I assumed you wouldn't mind RPG games. Like I said, being typical BioWare, ME has a brilliant storyline with their typical good/bad/neutral choices and fantastic graphics. In my opinion, one of the best RPGs to come out in 2007. Pity it doesn't have a PC counterpart.fable wrote:Why don't you give him a little more detail? Not about you, but about the game. Explain why it's worth getting.
Love is just a chemical. We give it meaning by choice ~ Eleanor Lamb, Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams
If your XBox 360 have backwards compatibility, you could try out Beyond Good & Evil. Pretty decent game from the creators of Rayman. You can use stealth and combat in that game, though it depends on certain levels.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
I was kind of on the edge about ME. The reviews have been good and I've seen some demos, but every so often I'd come across a seemingly reasonable person who would decline recommending the title because of this or that legitimate reason. If I come across a used copy or a rental, I may give it a look now that it's been suggested by some one who's read about what kind of games I enjoy.
I'm not sure on the backwards compatibility. I would assume my unit can do it, maybe with some tweaking. As such a whole new world of games is open to me. I'll take a look into the reviews, Des. Thanks.

games
thief: deadly alliance (original xbox).
the third and final? installment in the thief universe. you are a thief set (first or third person) in a medieval era where magic and science exist (no guns, but daggers, swords, and bows). this has alot of sneaking around and if played correctly no violence. i'd say this is a strategic-type game because you have to think before you leap. in a head-to-head battle, the enemies will almost always win. the storyline is detailed. if you can find the first two, i'd super suggest you get them (pc only). not really needed for the storyline though.
dynasty warriors 4,6? (4-original xbox, 6-360)
Dynasty warriors is a game with co-op (3rd person) where you re-enact 'the romance of the 3 kingdoms'. there are about 42 playable characters (depending on version). the whole game is styled and takes place in ancient china. three family lines struggle to become the rulers of china. every version is similar as the game uses the exact same story. i haven't run DW6 yet. you play through each story line with a character from that line. it is mainly just a combo button masher with an endless amount of enemies, but there is some strategy to win the battles on harder levels as you cannot always guard your officers and attack the enemy simutaneously. i think you may enjoy this as you only use swords/maces/axes/clubs...depending on the character. in DW4, there is a custom characters and bodyguards, and every character has a different set of moves.

i seriously recommend getting Fable or Fable: The Lost Chapters.
although they didnt deliver on about 80% of the promises that the lead dev made, they are still very fun, very enjoyable games.
if you like Action RPGs and have good sense of humour you cant really go wrong. the good/evil choices seem a little black and white sometimes but you can still be the character you want to be, and play how you want.
very, VERY easy games but for me most of the fun came from the character dialogue and reading books and graves.
like i said, if you're a fan of Action RPGs and have a good sense of humour, you cant go far wrong with these games.

She's got a smile that, it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories, where everything is as fresh as the bright blue sky.

viva pinata
yes, i said it!!! it is a very addicting game, if you are a perfectionist. it can take many hours to complete. there are about 30 pinatas (don't qutoe me).
basically, this is a creativity game. you create a garden ecosystem. ecosystem may be too harsh a word. anyway, the garden must be suited to the pinata who reside in it. the water pinatas will not like grasslands and visa-versa. collect all the pinatas, become the best gardener ever. Pinatas have variants and WILDCARDS. a very special pinata born with a different attribute.
if you like this one then i suggest you get the sequel due this fall.
