KSE 3.3.3 Help

Post by Darth Savor »

I have no trouble raising stuff like attibutes and Force points but when i try to edit Computer skills, Repair and those skills it has a really high number but it works like there is nothing there, When i try to raise take computer skill for example it will change from 231 to like -24 this is the same with all the others and if i just leave it they dont work, also how do i give myself items using kse and how do i give my self feats and skills using it ?

It has been a while since I have used KSE, but;

For skills, I think there is a max value (though not sure) and exceeding that value can cause negative effects. If I recall correctly, you would never need a skill above 35-40 anyway.

Step by step, open the tree for the save you want to edit. Then open the skill tree and click on the skill you wish to edit. In the right column, enter the new skill value, hit Apply, then hit Commit Changes. I never had a problem with this, so the problem might be if you are trying to input a value outside of the acceptable range (my guess would be 0-99).

Follow the exact same steps for Feats, except instead of inputing values, a list of available Feats will appear in the right hand column. Simply choose the ones you want, hit Apply then Commit Changes. I always hit apply after each Feat I chose, then Commit Changes after I made all of my selections.

Inventory items follow pretty much the same steps as Feats. However, I would suggest using the cheat console for getting items...quicker and more flexible. Better yet, get the TSL HakPad mod...this will allow you to access all normal items without using the console or KSE. (It also has a few other nice functions as well, such as cash dispenser, setting LS/DS points, skills, and attributes).

I don't have a link for the HakPad, but should be able to find it on FileFront or LucasForums...though I think the author of the mod has her own webpage (WarpedProductions, I think).

I can't say for certain, but I think that 99 is probably the max.

The HakPad (and the HakPad Booster Pack) is a very useful mod...and I don't recall experiencing any bugs with it. Just be sure, if you are not experienced with modding your game, to follow the installation instructions very carefully on any mod. If you put the wrong files in the wrong place, it can really screw up your game.

I use v3.3.2, I can't imagine it's much different. I've found the highest value I can put in is 100 without experiencing weird effects.

The monsters will adjust to your level, so if you gave yourself a very high level....
