I nominate Claudius from the TQ forum.

...I would nominate Siberys but he is a moderator...which I am not quite sure as to whether you can vote for him or not?...however if I can I nominate Siberys also.

;)
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

You mean a nomination? You can check the respective requirements of each award and who qualifies for them on the first page. :)

BS for Lurker?? How can you be a lurker with over 15,000 posts??
*seems like I've had this conversation before*

@ DW - I agree with the avatar suggestion.
You have never had this conversation before...in fact, you haven;t had it now either.

For the record, I have never crossdressed with fable (our tastes in accesories don't match), I have never knocked up anyone on this board (or anywhere else hopefully), and I have never had a restraining order placed against me by anyone, human or animal, including fowl and various aquatic beasts (This one is purely a pre-emptive denial on my part.)

Carry on.

Updates done, I'll link the avatars to members in Avatar Award as soon as I find the mood to scroll the member lists... :p
Yes, I'll do it today...

Oh, and deadline... hmm... let's say this Sunday, as I'm pretty busy whole week, so no chances before that...

@DW
Your idea is brilliant! :D
And in case of best avatar, well, we can always use the winning avatar as background, shaded down, and the text on top of it. And if someone wins more than one award, then we just fit all of them to the avatar :D

o.o

Shakespeare got a nomination! I never knew he was a member of GB. Oh look, I'm posting in SYM again!

In case some people don't know, the quote comes from Macbeth.

I just noticed I was entered for best avatar. Yay! It took me 3 attempts to make the file size small enough to use as an avatar. The original went a lot slower.

When are the awards handed out? (Seeing as it's nearly February)

We don't even have a nomination for the funniest member yet... Is all the humor in SYM dead? Or is it so perverted, it gets mixed up with the triple x stuff?

P.S. I nominate Mah for most perverted member. Noticed a couple of his posts over the past few weeks that really qualifies for the award.

I'm sure not everyone is like that......

Vicsun hasn't posted here in over a month, and I have no idea if he has been reading other people's messages. So I don't know if he will be available to make any nominations before the deadline. Therefore, I will make the following nomination for "Most Stupid Thing Said in SYM 2007" (although Vicsun and I would rather call it "Best Post in SYM 2007"--it is truly profound):

Edit: come have some donut holes and apple cider and ward away those nasty boys!!! Seriously learn giving, patience, joyful effort, wisdom perfection, concentration (samadhi), and forgetting something haha///

look above little ladies. Seriously in 10 years that will be 100000000 times more important than little johnny. Not that you don't have to deal with their likes too (sigh). Ladies must go to many efforts to benefit all humanity afterall!!!!

Edit: note I forget ethics - which is not treating people like **** pardon my french

@VonDondu,

I knew I was destined for great things but I didn't realize the magnitude. I also accept the dual nomination for both most stupid thing said in 2007 and also best post in 2007. (Humbly bows) _/\_ Thank you Von Dondu (cool signature).

My post is actually an example of idle chatter and extreme confusion. Those would be the proper categories. As well as intoxication to the point...well many of us are familiar with that point.

Note: I realize that I couldn't possibly win the idle chatter category....not in this place! Sheesh!
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

Kipi, I appeal to your Light Side: would you consider removing "the most stupid thing said" category or at least renaming it? :)

To make things easier, you can pick up one of the following lines for your reply:

1. Yes, I realize that by calling a member stupid or declaring a post "most stupid", we humiliate this member publicly, which is against this forum rules. I am going to remove this category ASAP.

*your alignment shifts toward "Lawful Good" and a distinctive Halo of Holiness appears above your avatar. All your previous transgressions are erased from living memory. Buck lovingly smiles at you from above.*

2. Yes, I realize we humiliate people, but I am reluctant to abolish this category completely. I am going to rename it "the funniest thing said".

*you alignment slightly shifts toward "Good" but no Halo appears. Buck still smiles at you from above.*

3. Yes, I realize we humiliate people, but this is their own fault. Why do they keep saying stupid things? I will think about it, but no promises, LD.

*your alignment doesn't change. LD is sad. You think it is actually a good thing she is, for a change. Anyway, who cares what LD says. She is not a Sacred Ancient.*

4. No, I don't realize we humiliate people. Because we don't. We are just having innocent fun at some stupid people's expense. No changes, sorry.

*your alignment slightly shifts toward "Evil". Your avatar is sporting a pair of cute horns.*

5. Yes, I realize we humiliate people. Humiliating people is FUN. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!!! Besides, this way we look smarter ourselves. Stop pestering me. No changes, period.

*your alignment shifts toward "Chaotic Evil". Your avatar is emitting large bursts of Hellfire.*

(preventive strike: your self-nomination in that category does not count. ;) )
Man's most valuable trait is a judicious sense of what not to believe.
