Telos Fuel quest?

Post by RedClaw »

Did the patch fix this quest so it is now completable? Has anyone had any success, ever, completing this quest?

Yeah I started another game and just finished Dantooine, so I'll be trying to complete the fuel quest again. I guess we'll see if its been fixed or not.

actually this is one of the bugs that this patch did'nt fix-it , but there is a solution for it :

NOTE:the following is not from my finding , thanks to :

Telos Fuel Quest bug solution

It appears that this is a bug, as all the dialog for informing Grenn about the new fuel source is there. After some digging it looks like the problem is that a variable is set one too high on Vogga's dialog when you inform him you have dealt with Goto. After changing this I could talk to Grenn about the fuel source.

If you know how to dig around in the data files, you could fix this fairly easy with a GFF Editor ( Can't use a hotlink , here's the URL : http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/other/data ... 6171.shtml ) . This is what I did:

1) Open the file 303NAR_dlg.erf (in the Modules folder) and extract Vogga.dlg from it. You can use nwhak.exe to do this if you have it (a utility that comes with Neverwinter Nights), or the ERF Editor ( Can't use a hotlink , here's the URL : http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/other/data ... 6760.shtml) if you don't have that (select the file in the treeview and choose export in the menu).
2) Open vogga.dlg in the GFFEditor.
3) In the GFFEditor treeview, find "EntryList" and inside that find "30".
4) For that entry, change "ActionParam1" to 4. The value is 5 as standard.
5) Save the edited Vogga.dlg in the Override folder.

As long as you haven't already spoken to Vogga about having dealt with Goto, this should enable you to speak with Grenn about the fuel and receive the reward from him for solving the fuel situation, after you have spoken to Vogga with the fixed dialog.

Even the end-game is reflected by this and he no longer mentions a lack of fuel when you speak to him then.

Just remember to remove vogga.dlg from your override folder later when a patch that fixes this bug is released .

If they did actually make it so that you could fix the fuel problem, they would run into a main plot problem when it came to the part where you go back to save the Citadel Station from the Ravager. The whole idea is that they can't fend off the attack and still have enough fuel to stay in orbit. Not sure that this will be fixed with the patch, unless they do some serious dialogue overhauls. with that series of events.

But hey, we're used to the dialogue not quite making sense with what's actually going on (friggin Obsidian!!)

As for me, I'd much rather have the HK factory quest completable than the fuel one. Citadel station can crash and burn for all I care, but whoever had the gall to create so many dang robots that all have that same stupid speech description impetament prior to every single thing they say deserves a nice swift lightsaber to the groin!!

(is that a long sentence or what? lol.... my bad, sometimes i just get carried away.....)

I know this is an old thread and don't know if anyone will read this post, but c'est la vie. Here is my input.

The fix on the team-gizka site, while quite useful, only fixes this bug for new games. Previous save games won't work. So...

If you have progressed this quest to the point that Vogga the Hutt in Nar Shaddaa has agreed to supply fuel, but Grenn in Telos only offers the bounty hunter dialog then you are in luck because this bug can be fixed with the KotOR Savegame Editor (KSE.)

This is what you need to do:
• Run KSE
 • Open the save game you wish to edit
 • Open Globals
 • Open Numerics
 • Find 200TEL_Fuel: 0
 • Change the value from 0 to 4
There is an attached .jpg to show the line in question in KSE.

You will now have the proper dialog option with Grenn in Telos.
Hope this helps someone as this thread is pretty old.
