backstab

This is a kinda embarrising question but I really do not get the backstab skill.
I've just started my first charchter for a long time and i chose thief... But now I just got the problem that I don't remember how to backstab. If anyone would be kind to tell me I would be gratefull

You need to hide in shadows and be successfully hidden. After that, you need to position yourself at the BACK of your enemy and attack. Some enemies cannot be backstabed.

Only the first attack you do could do the Backstab damage, if this attack does not hit the backstab is in vain

you could do more backstabs with a certain HLA or a certain spell

Actually, if you miss your first attack and still remain hidden, you can backstab again until you're detected.

If the first attack hits, you're automatically detected.

I suggest maxing the feedback so that it will also display why you are not Backstabbing. The main criteria is that you are:
#1. Standing behind the target
#2. Hidden from the enemy on the attack that deals the Backstab bonuses.

Other than that, it could be due to enemy immunities and also the weapon you are using... only weapons a Thief normally can gain proficiency in can be used to Backstab succesfully.
