minor walk through issue

Post by sparky_kat »

its not a big issue but thought i would bring it up.

i was helping a member with a question and noticed in the Brynnlaw guide that #8 is missing from the map. i know not a big deal, but it might help for people who have never played before.

i tried to click the "let us know" link, but my computer keeps trying to bring up an email i dont have access to, so thats why im posting it here, SORRY :o

Umm...what game are you talking about?
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

She is talking about Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.

I don't mean to invade the topic, but I saw that an entire encounter was missing from the Icewind Dale II walkthrough. I sent an email to the address provided under the "Let us Know" link a few months back, and yet there has been no change.

Usually - corrections are created and uploaded in "bulk" so to speak. So if it is minor corrections or additions, it could take a "long time" for the changes to actually make it to the live site.

However, you could always try to re-send the messages once in a while (every couple of months or so), as it is also likely that the mail got drowned out by spam or similar.

Thanks for the notes, everyone. They're always appreciated.

Since we cover so many different games on GB, I typically file walkthrough revisions and similar emails away until I have time to revisit the game at a later date. It's just too hard to keep track of the specifics for dozens of walkthroughs (some of which I wrote over 7 years ago) when I'm usually always working on at least one "current" walkthrough.

With that said, I have added the #8 area to the Brynnlaw map and will be taking care of any other Infinity Engine-related submissions soon (I have another IE project planned for the near future).

@Buck
Then please file away this one too:

MOB, Mulsantir map.
#10- a dirt mound (with Boots of Hardiness +3) - is not on the map.
Actually, a dirt mount I've found myself contained another valuable item; I think it was Mace of Disruption +5 but I am not sure. Was that #11 mound?

Thank you.

I fixed the MOTB map, but I added the #10 from memory, so hopefully I put it in the right place. I don't remember finding a Mace of Disruption +5 in MOTB.

Should I post the addition to the IWDII walkthrough here or wait until the IE project comes about?

Yep, I've just checked one of the Chapter I savegames: I gave the Mace of Disruption +5 and Triun shield to Kaelyn the Dove. I am 90% positive I've found this mace in a dirt mound.

Mace of Disruption +5

<blah-blah-blah... Barun... Lady Aribeth the Betrayer...>
<base damage... base critical threat... feats required... weight...>

Special Properties

Damage Bonus vs. Undead: 1d8
Enhancement Bonus vs. Undead: +5

If you already emailed a submission about it awhile back, then I most likely have it filed away. However, if you don't see any changes in a month or two, feel free to send in another email.
