I am thinking ahead about what I have in the BG series.
I have the original five CD game, BG1. That's what I'm playing right now. A few years ago, I also picked up (but haven't played) BG-II, The Collection. It consists of Swords of Amin and Throne of Bhaal. I don't think I have any expansion packs, unless these are expansion packs and I don't know it.
Anyway...will these two sets of games work in complete oneness with the universe? I take it that expansion packs can only be added before a game is initiated.
Thanks.

Not exactly, they live in two separate folders, and to continue your BG1 party in SoA you'll have to copy your final save folder to the SoA Save folder, but apart from that they are fairly seamless.Fulcanelli wrote:Anyway...will these two sets of games work in complete oneness with the universe? SoA and ToB do work in complete harmony though. Just make sure you install the latest patches.

Yikes. Thanks for the suggestion to get the patches. I didn't. I'm playing it on my laptop and that isn't connected to the internet. Yes, I knew about transferring characters to the later games. I was originally having problems with the game freezing on my Windows ME and stopped, then bought BG-II and noticed at the front end that I could bring on characters from BG-I and decided not to play II until I finished I. Hopefully I can save the patch and bring it over via a flash drive.
