Accession ritual problems (spoiler)

Post by Valonia »

I'm feeling stupid but I don't know how to poison the food and wine to become Lady Mania in the Isles. I have the poison, am in the right place, can see the food and wine, but how do I get it in? If you click on it, you get it in your inventory, if you drop the greenmote, it just lands on the table. It should be obvious but I'm not getting it and neither the Forum or GB, addressess the HOW. Thank you to anyone who puts me out of my misery!

Have you already spoken with (and followed) Wide-Eye?

Are you in Thadon's quarters?

I think you're refering to the 'Duke of Mania' quest. In order to be the 'Duchess of Dementia' maybe a bit different.

@Valonia - Although, I've never got around to doing the Accession ritual for Dementia, I've alwaysed replaced the Duke. Im sure the proceedure for either one shouldn't be all to different from one another. I also hadda save before & fiddle with it before I could actually toxicate the foods.

I'd suggest try messing around w/ it a few times & reload if messed up.

Problem Clarification

I am trying to replace the Duke of Mania to be the Duchess (I said Lady) of Mania. You have to choose Mania or Dementia. I have spoken to Wide-Eye, got the poison and am in the Duke's kitchen. I just need to poison the wine and food. Numerous attempts have not been successful and I have never used telekinesis. Can anyone tell me the technique? Thank you!

oh uh, well you don't have to use anything like telekinesis for it to work. When I did the quest, all I did was snuk in past the guards, found the food n' drink - then I'm *verry sure* all I did was press the A button or w/e your select button is. I'm also aware that allows you to pick 'em up aswell, but it seemed very plain 'n simple.

Try going back to your journal, updating (pressing A) then look down at the food & then the drink - putting the poison in one at a time. As far as I can tell, there wasn't any big trick to poison it.

I'm not sure if this has any part in it, but you may be standing too close to 'em. :o

hmmmm

Unless something got hinky with a bug or something, you should be able to taint Thadon's dinner on a table to the north (east?) of Thadon's quarters and then a bottle of wine at the north west of the room. If I remember correctly, this was done by just left clicking on the appropriate objects. Also, the wine name was specific to the quest although I can't remember exactly what... when I saw it, I knew.

Problem solved Doh!

When you guys said that there was no trick to the poisoning, I read the quest log again and realized that my save was 8:01 game time! The food and wine there was not "thadon's food and wine" which is why it was not working! I'm now the Duchess! Talk about feeling stupid! Thanks guys!
