A stupid Question
A stupid Question
Apologies if this has been mentioned or discussed, but what are those scary grass monkeys:speech: that follow you around the game in Chapter 1? The Witcher had me wondering "WTF?" with a lot of its content, but the one question I'd like answered is that. Thanks guys!
Do you mean little kids? They follow you around in every chapter because you're a spectacle, but they don't do anything.

LOL! No, they're these little critters with tails and a really scary monkey like face. They run circles around you if they catch up to you. They're pretty small, but they make some weirdo noise. I think they appeared after the patch; I haven't noticed them before. Really weird critters, I agree. Saw quite a few of them by the river, little red devils.phelot43 wrote:LOL! Maybe the Beast twisted cats into monkeys? Has anybody seen cats in the Outskirts? Plenty of mice but no cats.
Or maybe they were a product of wickedness too? Then the local wickedness was indeed special.

That's weird. I've never seen these creatures, and I started playing again after the last patch. Does anybody have a screenshot?

I believe that they are imps. I know that I saw a reference to that effect somewhere, but I can't recall where. They definitely existed pre-patch as I saw them in 1.1 too, they are non-interactive, so if you changed your visual settings post patch (especially ground cover) they would have started showing up.
Odd. Mine was patched to version 1.2 and I haven't seen them either.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
I've seen them all over the Outskirts as well.
In a few areas of the game they are around in a predetermined ratio, but are completely non-interactive.. just there for "atmosphere".
Go to Options > Advanced and set the "Small Animals" slider up or down from Few to Many
