I have never used any cheat codes in a game before and don’t really plan to now but I am curious how to use them. How do you use the cheat codes? The text I read said to use text editor to edit the “ baldur.ini” file in the game folder. Add the line “Debug Mode=1” under the “program options”. etc… But I can’t find these files, where are they?
I also was interested in using the Ease-Of-Use Mod . It says to
Unzip the main ZIP file into your BGII main directory. This is normally: C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\ Run (click on) "Setup-Ease.exe".
But I can’t find these either. Like I said and as you can tell I have never done this before but I would like to learn how, for my own knowledge and in case I ever need or want to.
Thanks!
where are you?
The .ini file should be located in the main directory of your BG installation. The given path C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA is the assumed default path in which BG will install itself to unless specified otherwise during the game's installation.
Seeing as to that you're asking this question, I would assume that you have indeed used the default installation path, which is rather strange that you could not find it as specified.
You could also use your operating system's Search tool to locate the file. In windows, this should be accessible as a magnifying glass icon in the toolbar on the top of any open window, or through the shortcut combination on your keyboard: Windows (button) + F.

be aware that in XP and VISTA OS, the .ini part does not show when searching, also it may bring up multiple if you have BGI and BGII installed. a really easy way to get to the directory....
in start menu, click on computer, click (or double click) C:, then go to program files, then black isle, then BGII - SoA, then look for the name baldur with the file type being configuration settings. the icon for the file should look like a piece of paper with a gear on it.
hope that helps

[QUOTE=Tricky;990202]I can't really tell if I can't read that because I'm too drunk or because you are.
[QUOTE=Claudius;990251]Lets hope it was both of us
Ah yes. I also totally forgot (as I always set this to default on any new Windows I work with) about hidden extentions and hidden files. Unhide them from Tools > Folder Options. Under the View tab, check show hidden files and folders, uncheck hide extentions for known file types, and just double check that hide protected operating system files is checked (so no accidents occur to screw up windows).
