DarthMalevolent, i totally agree. Nihilus was the biggest disappointment he killed an entire planet and then you go and kill him like he was nothing

I found the entire ending of the game a huge disappointment both in terms of content and the ease of combat. In fact, I would go so far as to say it was among the worst endings of any game I have completed. The encounters with Nihilus, Sion, and Traya were very anticlimactic in terms of game plot and easy in terms combat. I can handle "easy", but the combat was beyond simple. The final moments of the game particularly disappointed me. I'm, honestly, not sure what I was expecting. Some grand final plot twist or something that provided me greater "closure" about the point of my game's journey would have been nice.

Yeah, when you ask Kreia, "Why me?" at the end , and all she said was, " Perhaps you were expecting some great secret that i had been keeping from you, some great revelation that would shatter you to your core, but there isnt, there is only you," i was infuriated at the fact all it was literally that i had severed my ties from the force, i wish they would show flashbacks, at the end of the war at Malachor V , and like show what happened to me, in the end, can anyone say the worse cliffhanger ever experienced, the only reason i can think of that they would do that is because Kotor III is a continuation, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
The first time I played through, my reaction to the ending was "huh? what's going on?". After finishing the game twice more (once as Sith, once as Jedi) and paying a lot more attention to the dialogue and story and history, my reaction is "where's the rest of it?" Now I know about Bao Dur's story, the whole "mass shadow generator" thing makes sense. Now I know Goto's history, the point where he stops the remote makes a bit more sense. My attitude about the ending is still "meh!" but that's better than "huh?".
What annoys me the most is the lack of choice I got. Once I found the last Jedi master, the game turned into a railroad. Kreia stopped talking to me (and stopped upgrading my crystal, which infuriated me).

Hated it
I pretty much hated the entire game, really. It didnt live up to #1. The ending was horrible mainly because they rushed it sooooo much. Sion and Kreia, you kill two of the Sith lords within two minutes of eachother. The acadamy was soooo easy too. I got bored during the last level... That SHOULDNT happen during the LAST level. My character tore through all of the stupid sith assasins. Also, why do they bow down to you when you go in then try and kill you? Those other rooms were pointless as well, they just lead to Sion, and there is nothing interesting in them other than easy-to-kill enemies. Also, when the Ebon Hawk showed up, it was just retarded. I wanted to get up right then, it was just pointless. WHY would you put in a cutscene where it is destroyed just to show it come back. It wouyld have been more believable if the cutscene wasnt there. Also, how did it go UNDER the world and into the Acadamy? And there was no twist, After I saw my first planet where she revives Hanrarr, im like "She the last Sith Lord, there goes the rest of the story" Also, if you remeber the dialogue where she says the 3rd sith lord is female but cant reveal herself yet. That was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO obvous. I just quite the game for like two weeks after that, I knew what would happen. Also, Nihilus. MUCH potential and NONE of it was fulfilled. It actually pisses me off how BADLY they screwed up. KOTOR 1 was good though. Wooo....

Kotor 2 superior to KOTOR 1, :laugh:ha ha No. Just No . Dont even compare Kotor 1 and two, theres no comparison. Actually Nihilus was human (at least at one time) but the reason he explodes into red dust is because he didn't actually die. If you remember after killing him you pick up his mask. Right before striking the final blow Darth Nihilus puts his remaining life force into his mask. This is confirmed later on in the Star Wars Legacy comic that takes place roughly 100 years after A New Hope and roughly 4,100 years after KOTOR II. (In the comic Darth Krayt revives him partially.) So really that is a testament to Nihilus' true power to show he can live for so long and still be so powerful.) Also in KOTOR II they give an explanation for why Nihilus is so easy. Because you are a void, a death in the force, when he tries to draw on your power it backfires and weakens him instead. I don't mind in games so much when things like that happen because they give a perfectly reasonable explanantion and it fits into the story correctly. (It shows that they weren't just being lazy )
Part of the dialogue at the end actually does kind of reference the fact that there is no huge twist (Kreia mentions something about it). KotOR1 had one, Empire Strikes Back had one, but this game (and many, many other good ones) didn't. Personally, I hated the twist in the first game (I found it predictable and rather lame), and while it was obvious Kreia was the final Sith, that was sort of the point. Because she wasn't evil, you know she's not because you've played the entire game with her at neutral. She was simply a very amoral and manipulative character.
The ending does very much suffer from the fact that a great many things were cut before the game was shipped. The Restoration Project that [url="http://www.team-gizka.org"]Team Gizka[/url] is making is going to restore a lot of it, giving most of the NPCs more closure at the end of the game.
The strength of KOTOR2 was never really its plot, as it was not an epic story about saving the galaxy. It was a game about the main character and his effect on the galaxy and all the lives he'd touched (quite like Planescape: Torment, due to the fact that they were written by the same guy). The characters and NPCs were incredibly well written, especially compared to some of the boring and simple NPCs from the first game. The NPCs have their own character twists as well, some of which are incredibly difficult to find. Also, all the details and continuity in this game make it, in my opinon, far superior to the first.
It also takes the simplistic lightside/darkside from the first game and throws in a *lot* of philosophy and gray area about the Force that hasn't really been addressed in any other Star Wars game. For instance, some of the lightside actions actually cause more harm than good. One can mount a strong argument that, for the most part, supporting Vaklu on Onderon (darkside in the game) is actually probably better for the people and culture of Onderon.

hay that restoration thing sounds great but what tools do i need to add it i mean i think i screwed up tls patcher i hope its not that

I think like Fable, the middle of the game, or the meat of it,was superior to KOTOR I. LIke with Baldur's Gate II and similar games, I found many of my complaints in the original were addressed with the sequel.
I always buff my main char, and take careful consideration of his level ups, etc, so when I found myself controlling a secondary characters, many times I had to think clearly and plan. It made the game very fun for me. Like when I had to take on a bunch ofassasins as T34M4, I was like "Whoa, this is a little R2 unit,what the heck do I do?"
Adding the ability to build items, customize things, upgrade, etcwere all improvements from part I, the NPCs felt more fleshed out. In part I Bastila had a huge story, and so did Carth, but the others felt a little sparse. In this one everyone had a big story, except the ones that were carry overs from part 1.
But then I get to the end, and my romance was unresolved, the droid subplot wasn't concluded, the last time I mentioned some dialogue options with NPCs they werent ready to talk about it, so it never got finished, and I get Kreiasaying they will live their life and move on while I go find Revan.
What kind of ending was that? and did the bad guys WIN?? I mean, you approach Kreia, andshewantsyouto killher sothe force will die, and you kill her, so is the force dying atthe end? Didnt youplay into her hands?

i think the whole storyline is very bad
in kotor 1 you had a nice kill-talk comparison, but in kotor 2 you have nearly no fights and you spend hours talking about the unintresting lives of your party members and kreia talking cryptic(always about the force ) even worse: you have to load your game when you lose influence with your companions or never be able to talk with em again about new stuff, or companions from the other side mess up your own alignment.
the storyline makes no sense at all: they tell you all about your party members, but nothing about the three end bosses. sion is ridiculously ugly and his voice is irritating! and nilhilus? hes no longer a man? i dont buy it, they tried to make the whole story special and mysterious but it ended up as very annoying. the storyline of the first one was way better: unpredictable plot, realistic(no unnatural people like nilhilus or sion) and most important of all: not depressing, the music was so depressed and always hearing how the republic is doomed(because of you!) and how theres no hope left!
also, they kinda copied the storylines about the planets: you start on a ship/facility which will be destroyed when you leave, you escape to a huge city-planet and cant get away from it, they re-use two planets(which isnt all bad, but all the planets are WAY too small), onderon is completely like manaan as in being neutral and having to make the choice between the republic and the sith, and nar shaddaa is probably the best planet in kotor 2(the biggest, i might add)
the new workbench/lab station system makes me spend less time fighting and more time boosting my fighting skills, which is bad.
many of the characters were 'stolen' from 1:
-atton is like carth(who also plays a small role in this), because he trusts no-one
-kreia is like bastila(same accent and always nagging and 'teaching' you new things)
-HK-47 and T3 and completemy the same!!
-put canderous in some armor and youve got mandalore(same voice actor)
-mira>mission
-hanharr>zaalbar, but evil
-visas, bao-dur, disciple, GO-TO and handmaiden are new, but all annoying
and i dont think that the plot of 1 looks like the sw movies because:
-you were revan and you didnt become him(you could be him again)
-you wear a mask to make people fear you, not because you cant breathe on your own
-you dont have a son
-you didnt betray your master, quite on the contrary, it seems
-you are/were the man in charge, not some old man like sidious
