Stuck after killing abazigal(bug)

Post by Skeletoff »

Hi. I have completed SoA many times, but just couldnt get myself into ToB. Now I finally decided to play it till the end and of course i am stuck.

I just killed Abazigal, talked to Cyric, killed his thiefs. Then I tried to visit Balthazar but i cant, and now the most important: I just read that I should have been shown a talk between Balthazar and Mellissan and Elminster should have visited me, but nothing of this happenned.
Since it took me long time to find out that something had gone wrong I dont have any Save before killing abazigal. Is there any help? Does anyone know what variable should I change in Shadowkeeper, or anything that could help me?

You killed Sendai as well? The sequence will happen after both, Abazigal AND Sendai are dead.

Eh. Something should have happened and it did not. Therefore I thought my inability to proceed was due to bug, so I didnt explore any way to get in. But thanks, ill try this soon.
But still I feel a bit cheated, having not seen the cinematics, could anyone describe them? :)

perhaps if you return to Abiz's lair and wander round outside a bit, Mr E will turn up - If you planed out rather than walked out, you may not have triggered the leaving the lair encounter.

just a thought.

The cutscene with Balthazar and Melissan should have been shown yeah, but Elminster doesn't show everytime. Got no idea what triggers it, though.

And no, there are three ways of getting to Balthazar, afaik. There's Saemon, there's the undead hall thingie and there's just storming the castle and killing lots and lots of monks. I usually prefer the third one, saves a lot of time.

I believe Elminster comes when you kill Sendai AFTER Abazigal. That's the only time I see him, after killing her and leaving through the portal that spawns, El appears outside.

Nothing really worked, but finally I used SK to create the key to the monastery and everything was fine. Game completed now :) Still there is a strange feeling... who said that Lord of murder must be evil? A good god that was supposed to be evil would surely make the universe a better place.
And how about those speeches about missing me? Are the DnD gods unable to to live on prime material plane?

There are three endings... Claiming the Throne in a good way, claiming it in an evil way or decline it. It depends on what answers you give the Solar during the "tests", IIRC.

However, read your question again and I'm pretty sure you can answer it yourself.

I broke Abazigal too, by draining his Intelligence when he's in human form. You get no items from his corpse if you do that.
Finished: Baldur's Gate* | Baldur's Gate II* | Diablo* |
Diablo II* | Fallout 3*** | KOTOR | NWN** | Planescape Torment | Titan's Quest*

Playing: Fallout 2 | Icewind Dale** | Icewind Dale II

To Thrifalas's post:

As far as I know, only your original alignment changes the good or bad ending. Whether or not you accept your divinity is decided by a dialog choice that Solar presents you with.
