Watchers Keep - Spoiler

Post by davfrahen »

I haven`t done Watchers Keep for some time and I`m stuck on the first level.
I`ve done the bell, book and candle bit and everything else on that level, but when I try to go down to the next level, it says some mysterious force is preventing me.
What have I left behind, please?

You're sure that you did the ritual correctly? Does your character know what page to turn the book to?

Do you still have that item Brother Pol gave you?

I had it in my bag of holding! Soon as I took it out, it was ok.
Many thanks.

You're holding the item? It's possible that one of the statues got scared and ran away. Try searching for it. If you imprisoned or mazed any, it might be a good idea to kill them the old fashioned way instead.

Pooh!

I've just realised that that might be why I can't find Foebane - my PC is a wild mage and often casts 'maze' on an enemy.
I went back and checked that whole level for the darn sword - I bet I mazed the statue. I also wager that it's too late to cast freedom even if I could get there again.

I probably left the level whilst the maze was still in operation, which probably screws it up. at about 20 INT it lasts some time...
