I'm level 4, And I beat the game since it has came out, but I'm terribly unsaticified on how weak my Sorcerer is... I can bearly beat the "Docks" And when I go to beggers' nest, I'm bound to be destroyed. Is there some reason why all of my spells only do 6 dmg? I've looked around, AND AROUND and I keep on hearing this feat called "Maximize spell" I can't find it anywhere in the feats, I looked and looked..But no luck!???? Can someone please tell me what my problem is here, cause I hate being so weak, and having so much potential.
Please respond, and I'll be greatly in your debt.

Sorcerer help! Please respond..
Well, Sorcerers and Wizards tend to start out on the vulnerable side in D&D games. You have low hit points and a low armor class. So, you need to do your best to not let the enemies get into close range. Moreover, this is complexified by the fact that you don't have a lot of powerful damage spells at lower levels.Merzlin wrote:I'm level 4, And I beat the game since it has came out, but I'm terribly unsaticified on how weak my Sorcerer is... You'll notice a substantial boost in power around level 6 or so, when you get your first major mass damage spell, fireball. In the meantime, make sure you've got a powerful henchmen with you (Daelan is probably your best bet; though, several others are good as well) and consider using some crowd control spells like color spray and sleep to immobilize your opponents. If you think tactically, you'll do fine. If that's not your style, consider a more melee oriented class and you'll notice the early parts of the game becoming much easier.

i think maximise spell is a feat a sorcer an learn but not until later levels, i think its so that early level spells like colour spray can become more useful.Merzlin wrote:Wow, majorly, you were very correct! Man, now I need to go farm it up and see how good this Fireball really is! Still, I have one question that maybe you could answer... What is this "Maximize spell" Come into game? Does it exsist? THanks again!
As as was said use daelen as a henchman, an early level sorcerer wont last long on his own
You can find the info about the maximize spell feat here. Also I would reccomend that you stock up on potions.

as sorceror or wizard you should really rely on your henchman or summon creatures(which is very handy)
summon creature will make your life a lot easier.
with a good combination of your familiar you can't be touched;-)
fighter class>front line of battle
rogue clas>middle
caster>supportive
wizard is a supportive one
always at the back
cautious and firing spells at enemies
i never used fireballs they aren't that good.
try a good creature combined with a henchman and concentrate on attacking spells to kill low leveled creatures while your henchman and pets kill the stronger ones
area effects are risky too use
most area's are too small (with bosses in em anyway)
you can get attack of opportunities easy if you don't watch your back
