I've started playing with a custom party (multiplayer party in SP) and I've got a minor issue. When I want to change one of my party members to a joinable NPC (for quests and such) she just goes away without telling me where =).
Might not seem like a big problem, and my best tip is that she's going to the Copper Coronel, but I'm in the grove now and can't check until I've finished the quests there.
Note: "Girls goodbye, goodbye girls." is the parting words of my 'former' party member =)
Could also use some strategy tips for defeating the naughty shadowshifting genie in the grove area (If...something). He seems to be invurenerable at times when he shouldn't.... =/

When you kick a custom party member, they leave and never return. As far as I know, there is no way around that.
As for the genie, SPOILER (highlight to read):

I have to assume that you are talking about the ones in Trademeet. Could you describe the situation in more detail and perhaps mention if you're running any mods?
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
In an unmodded game, custom characters disappear forever when you kick them out. However, there is a mod that will correct this problem by giving you the option to tell them to wait for you in the spot where you kick them out or in the Copper Coronet. It's an option in one of the tweak packs (probably the G3 Tweakpack).
The "naughty shadowshifting genie in the grove" is being hunted by the djinni, but she is a rakshasa, not a djinni. Her name is Ihtafeer. She has the same immunities as the rest of her kind: she is immune to weapons with less than a +3 enchantment, and she is not affected by spells below 8th level. Her Armor Class is -5, so she is difficult to hit. She has no protection spells in her spellbook, but as you have found out, she has plenty of immunities already. I simply have my melee warriors beat the crap out of her with +3 or better weapons. She can also be harmed by Melf's Minute Meteors (the fire damage doesn't hurt her, but the missile damage does) as well as her own Cloudkill spell.
