Accidental Awesome Recipe's! (Spam on Subject)

Post by Siberys »

Been a while since I've seen any kind of cooking thread, and I'm pretty sure we don't have one like this. What are your favorite accidental recipes that actually turned out alright. Accidentally adding an extra egg to pancake batter or using powdered sugar instead of flour in a biscuit's and gravy mix.

Personally, today I found a great recipe. I forgot how high I turned the stove on when making a cheese burger and the instant I flipped it, I got myself three full seconds of a half bonfire sized flame. Thankfully, nothing was damaged, but that small flamekiss from the fires of grease just make the burger frickin AWESOME! I won't be trying this again, but it did make it ten times better.

And as for the powdered sugar biscuits and gravy, until my stepfather told me he made the mistake and I knew it was powdered sugar, it was an awesome meal. Though, knowing what it was kinda changed that.

What about you dudes?

Leak soup accidentally buying sweet potatoe instead of potatoe. I had 1/2 sweet potatoe and half a potatoe that I already had. It wasn't necessarily better but it was still real good. I think the carton of cream helped :D
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

I don't know if this qualifies as accidental, but once a long time ago, I realised the milk had gone bad just as I was set to make pancakes.
Instead I ended up using the equivalent amount of plain yoghurt. The results were so much better that I've made pancakes that way ever since :D

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I guess mine is kind of like that, Once when I was making Vegan pancakes for my sister (she is vegan not me I eat pounders daily). I notice her soy milk had gone lumpy so I thought and couldn't be bothered to get more so I put the lumps in. Then she asked me what I did to make them so good. Apparently lumpy soy milk makes good Vegan Pancakes I tried some they were better than the slop they usually taste like. Well she wanted to know what I did but I didn't tell her (probably because she would kick my ass). Now back to the point great accidental recipe from being lazy!
