Magnavox TV and Sound Issues with Sci Fi Channel.

Post by Siberys »

So, for the last year now I've been having problems with the Sci Fi channel, where the sound creates this feedback rippled distorted sound every two to ten seconds, making it near impossible to watch any single show.

I've been trying to register on the sci fi forums during said year, but for some reason, not one of my emails is acceptable to them, so I can only assume they aren't allowing registration.

Has anybody had this problem with Sci Fi? It's not an old TV. I bought it at Radioshack a couple years ago (But then again, it was a floor model, that might be it). What's really odd is that it's only this channel. No other channel has this problem.

Without knowing anything about TV and such - my general "debugging mode" would question that it would be your TV which caused the problem when it is only with one specific channel. My bet is that it indeed is something in the sci-fi channels broadcast to you, or with the cables to you which cause the issue, perhaps the frequency band or something like that.

If you have the chance - try to get your TV over to somebody else who also have sci-fi channel and seeing if the same occurs there. If it doesn't try different cables, if it does - and it is only on that channel as well, .... then I'm out of ideas, unless it is still under warranty :)
