Kivan leaves Me

Post by SupaCat »

I'm playing Bg:Tutu and I'm around level 7 and in the city of BG. When I talk to Kivan he says he has other things to go to and he leaves me. Why? When I got him into my party he said he wanted to hunt down bandits and such. I destroyed the entire bandit-camp, what more does he want? Anyway, an easy sollution would be NOT to talk to him, but I've seen my NPC's talk to me before, so I'm worried that he will leave even if I don't talk to him. A bug? Help please

That's strange. You're not suffering from a low reputation or anything, are you? I really have no idea what's going on. If I understand correctly, if you initiate conversation (so I'm assuming you have the NPC Project installed) he leaves your party. You might go over to the NPC Project Forums and post a query about it. They may have more answers than we non-designers.

I don't have a low reputation and I don't have a mod for NPC dialogue. I was wondering if I could talk with my NPC's and used the talk-button on Kivan. He was the only one who said anything, the others just said nothing.

Exactly the same happens to Ajantis, although I have EasyTutu and the BG1 NPC Project installed. So you don't have any mods, at all?

I only have Tutu. Did Ajantis leave you without you talking to him?

No, just right when I try to initiate a dialogue with him. He announces that associating himself with filth like us was a mistake, quits and turns hostile :(

It has nothing to do with his happiness, since the PC is a lawful good paladin and the reputation is Heroic (18).

If I don't talk to him nothing happens, he remains in the party and expresses his approval of our achievements from time to time.

Eventually he did, but that was after my previous post.
Anyway, in the meanwhile I posted about the problem on the Gibberlings forum, and the guys there got to the following conclusion:

"This is a Tutu-only problem, as on BGT this is handled by BGT rather than BG1NPC"

So it's possible that the same thing causes your Kivan to leave.

Thanks alot for your help, i finished the game now and he didn't leave me. Now I think about it, I think I could have avoided the problem, since I could talk to Kivan about 3 times before he left, but at that moment I didn't take it serious since Bg1 isn't known for the Party Member Conversations. Anyway, thanks
