'Ello,
Well, I've been thinking about cheese. How we should feed it to monsters - not cheating, I don't like cheating - so that we may sit back and relaxedly enjoy an apocalyptic confrontation with no real danger of having to reload. Or use 'Raise Dead' or 'Resurrect'.
For instance - (and this is a spoiler) - in the Underdark, the Driders' Caves, the southeast corner, when all those eight-legged abominations converge upon you, and they are even more numerous in HoF.... I employed a neatly worked out strategy:
First, summon to the brim before entering danger zone. I'd start with undead. Mass Haste all (including your party), then Executioner's Eyes (a treat!), then Mass Invisibility, only on your party, and then move in.
It turned a really nasty fight into something quite easy. My party did not attack. I made sure one of its invisible members herded the zombies & boneguards around and watched how they hacked away at the baddies. They revealed themselves only when they were sure nobody would come up from behind anymore, and there was a good summoned meat-barrier between them and the fight, and kept shooting and summoning until it was over.
I've discovered I like walking around incognito. Why this thread? I'm not boasting (really, it's quite simple to come up with this scheme), but rather just wishing to share. And I'd like to hear of any other nice ideas such as this from others : )
So....
That is all,
Quirit.
P.S. One more thing, a poll of sorts:
Who is your favorite summon, and why?
For me, it's the Rhamoraz. Because he's big (blocks the way), and because he kicks a**.

I prefer the spelltrap / death zone approach. It requires less preparatory cheese, and can be used spontaneuously without meta-gaming knowledge. It can get a bit more dicey if the enemies get through, but that keeps it interesting.
I just prefer actively creating and managing devastating zones of magical destruction.

I would have my sorc with improved invis(for the 50% miss, not the bug exploit pre-2.01 patch), mirror image and eagle splendor cast malison and wail of the banshee until they are all gone
the demon summons are the best, no argue. My personal preference slightly points towards the cournugon because he can stun.....
