Player cant hit oponnents

Post by Dreg Atar »

Peapole help,

I am confused.
It does not mater with witch class i play, mu problem starts on the Telos surface. In battle my player can't hit a soul. It does not mater witch attack I use (flury, power attack, regular attack), my player always miss.

Force, no problem.
Other characters, no problem.

Weird, is it not?

Not at all. First, read the manual, so you get an idea of the combat system. That may start to explain a lot.
What are your stats? What weapons are you using? As a general advice: don't use the special attacks until you get the Master level in it.

Exactly what GawainBS said. Use the weapon you have the best stats in and concentrate on upgrading that stat and weapon, even if it isn't your best weapon. Better to hit with a lesser weapon than to miss with a greater weapon. Good Luck

If you don't have the feat "finesse" either with lightsabers or melee weapons, you need to have a fairly high strength score, whether artificially or naturally in order to have a good chance of hitting during melee combat.

If you do have "finesse" you can substitute dexterity for strength to modify your "to hit". I do this because it also makes your defense better, giving you two advantages from a single stat.

Using STR also raises your damage, while defense can be taken care of via meshes & underlays, but that's advanced gameplay.

That's true, but the damage bonuses from strength are relatively small, and can be overcome with equipment towards the end of the game.

And STR + Equipment = even greater damage => quicker enemy death => less damage => less need for defense.
Apart from that, if you use meshes & underlays to resist damage, you need even less defense, which opponents will overcome eventually.
(I like DEX more than STR, but mechanicly, overall, STR is superior in KotORII.)

Have you tried using Force powers?

The best powers I can think of are: Speed, Lightning, Kill, Valor

Your STR is higher than your DEX, why do you have finesse?
Anyway, does this problem occur with other characters as well? Might be a technical issue.

I also think it is technical problem. I gave my set of disks to my friend, and he's got same problem. And yes, only the main character has that problem.

I got the finesse because i started to bild up dex. I figured I like it better.

I hope you didn't get Finesse: Melee Weapons, because that will be wasted once you get lightsabres... (That requires Finesse: Lightsabre.)
Anyway, did you get the most recent patch? Did you try out a new, clean install? (Uninstall, clean all the folders, start a new game?) Maybe even the Team Gizka fixes might help... Check for them here: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Restoration Project - Downloads

No, same thing.

Even with all the patches. But one thing is changed. When I give order witch attack with male weapons, miss, when i attack using force and leave character to attack on his own, then he hits.

I am confused. I think i will try it on new system. I will format HDD and install new system.
