You can only damage it when it's in fairy form.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Hi.
I used the spell that protects the body at the cost of mana (so the fairy wouldn`t be able to damage me while in orb form) and used the assasin rush spell to get up close behind it and kill the fairy with a melee or range weapon. Worked reallly good.

using divine fury or infernal rath will always damage it.
It forges the Orb to transform into a Nimf and than it gets damaged.

I use that slow down time spell so when it looks like it's about to land, I go in and smash it.
Warning: logic and sense is replaced by typos and errors after 11pm
Spoiler
, it has yet to return

Lightning doesnt do any damage when its in orb-mode :P It would be a waste of mana.

I think enflame would also do the trick when they land on the ground.

That is, if they stand still long enough :P
Serieusly, I find Phys shield and infernal warth/ divine furry the best working to take out more than 1 Nimf.

I think I've missed 2 or 3 times but I did get Skorm's Bow very early in the game and had my skill max out real soon after that.
