Help With Multiplayer

I'm sorry if this has come up a million times before, but a search turned up... nothing good.

Anyway, I need help with setting up a multiplayer game online. We both have the English version with the latest patch, no mods. We both have Hamachi.

Please, good sirs of this forum, help me!

Does it say something along the lines of "Cannot join game"?

Did you make sure that your firewall is not blocking the game? Are you behind a router? If so, you may need to reconfigure as BG isn't compatible with them, or at least certain settings.

Try joining directly through the IP addresses given to you by Hamachii.

I had tried multi player with another player in Argentina (I am in Canada) without using Hamachi, you just needed to know the game host's IP address. Everything worked fine until we gotten outside of the dungeon, then my game would crash. I think it was due to we had different versions, I was using the English version while he was using the Spanish version.

The Bioware site says that you have to have the same version and the same patches.

Mh. I have the English game(I think? I bought it in Norway, it's in English - with American accented writing for the most part, though) and so(I think!) does my brother, though he got it through the web. Well, we'll see. Is there any way to check?
