Where can I find Kalkstein in the Inn? Is he only there at night?

The last time I played the Witcher, I remember him being in the Inn no matter what time it is. How far are you into the game? :confused:

I found him

He was at the gate. I played out that scenerio and then he show back up at the inn. Thanks.
