Wesp5, I decided to continue my game and I noticed something else about Larry. Selling certain melee weapons to him consistently makes my game crash. Do you get that too? The custom katana does, which I thought could be attributed to it being 'modded-in', but then I saw selling the baseball bat had the same effect. I was able to sell the tire wrench though. I went to the Red Spot to see if other merchants were affected by this bug, but I had no problems selling everything there.

I also noticed The Hunted Hunter doesn't get taken out of the active mission list in Santa Monica after you've spoken to Bertram about his and Knox' deceit. I'm not sure if there are more steps to the quest. I played a female Ventrue and I got a clan specific reply for 'being on top of everything'.

Edit: Also, the 'braid of the bear' which apparently adds a point to brawl doesn't work. I noticed it in my mail box after finishing Mitnick's first quest (or accepting the second, I do not know). When I dropped it from the inventory to see if picking it up again would change anything, it never fell to the ground. It just disappeared.

No, I just sold Larry a baseball bat without the game crashing.

Have you killed the Asian vampire yet?

Sometimes dropped items of all kind fall out of the game world and there is nothing I can do about it. BTW, I consider changing the braid to raise perception for ranged weapon players instead of brawl for close-up fighters which have it much easier anyway. What would you think about this?

Weird. I did kind of stash his own inventory with all the junk I found. Perhaps it's related to that.

Yes I have.

Well, other than that it didn't raise anything in the first place..
Firearms and brawl are both skills that already get at least two bonuses through books and conversation. Adding additional item based bonuses may make Research a bit too lucrative, because you'll be able to max all skills out very soon. It's already quite possible to pretty much max out every skill by the end of the game. I think balance is an issue.

I have a question for you. A while ago I asked if Nadia (woman in white dress) at the Giovanni mansion would now follow you down into the lower catacombs. She always got stuck into this cowering position after the zombies started to close in on her, so I was never able to take her with me. I think you told me it was fixed, but I'm not really noticing the change. Once I attack a zombie, she gets scared and runs away (though they can chew out my brains without her noticing anything). And at the end of the first area you reach a locked door, which as far as I know is only destroyed after I killed a few zombies.

How am I supposed to get Nadia through that?

He means the Nossie warrens and I bet this is already mentioned somewhere here in the walkthrough under unlabeled quests or something.

Well, other than that it didn't raise anything in the first place.
It should raise Unarmed directly which is not mentioned via a message.

Normally Nadia recovers once all zombies are dead and you are close to her.

Yes, that did it. There was some new dialogue there as well I think? Maybe I just never considered going back there after the ordeal with the warehouse.

I think I was looking at Brawl where I should have been checking Unarmed. Sorry

All this time I thought those zombies kept respawning, and you had to survive until the other one broke through the door. I would always made a run for it. I had no clue. :)

One minor thing, finishing the Fu Syndicate I went back to Wong Ho to inform him of Ming Xiao plans to have him and his daughter murdered. The persuasion line to convince him that Ming Xiao was up to no good came up twice in the selection menu. Twice as in both dialogue option number 1 and 2. There was still a 3 for not blowing the whistle, so I guess it wasn't much of a bug. More of a.. cosmetic flaw.

Anyway, I'm about to enter the Society of Leopold base. I pretty much finished every sidequest aside from the one where you collect items for that perv Gary. I can if I get my hacking skills sorted out before the end of the game, but may miss the requirement for Kamikaze Zen by a few points. All the other sidequests were in perfect working condition.

During my current run through the game with a Gangrel (basic patch 5.2), I noticed a missing stat increase. While talking to Beckett after retrieving the sarcophagus from the Giovanni Mansion you can make him increase one of your abilities. Though I was able to choose the "Like yourself, I consider myself somewhat of a scholar."-dialogue option, I didn't get the stat increase in scholarship (from 4 to 5). This did work in all my previous runs through the game. Furthermore, Beckett's text seems to be (intentionally, I guess) changed: If I remember correctly, he talked about Dracula before and know speaks of the Book of Nod (which is more fitting in my opinion).

I was already made aware of this and restored it for 5.3. A condition was missing and I set the fixed parameters too low for thus late in the game...

Hello Wesp.

Every new version of the unofficial patch brings a lot of bug fixes and restores unused stuff that never made it to the shelves, we appreciate your efforts. Unfortunately, it seems each version comes packed with new bugs that slipped by under developement. :(

I've restrained myself several months to play the game again as it seems each version needs a little clean up, but I'm always looking for new versions of the patch to keep my game actualized.

Here is an idea, why don't you start to upload beta versions of the unofficial patch? That way you can get feedback and fix problems before you upload a final version. Probably I'd never install a beta version, like many other players, but wait until a final version arrives; but there are many other people avid to play with the latest beta version and post feedback.

I just wouldn't know if it would take more work from your part and you were forced to upload more installation methods of each version, something like:
  • Unofficial Patch - [5.2 to 5.3]
  • Unofficial Patch - [5.3b to 5.3]
  • Unofficial Patch - [1.2 to 5.3]
...or something like that.

So what do you think? Let us know your opinion.

Thanks for reading, peace out. :)
And so I left...
Cold of heart and soul.

I already tried that once but Bloodlines is much too complex as that a few beta testers can find all issues. Therefore I release the patches like they are and then try to fix issues as fast as possible.

Decided to play this game again after a while, installed the 5.2 patch and went on.
Didn't even start to play yet but noticed on the character selection screen they have really and i mean really messed up lens on eyeballs, males don't have them at all and females have them always in one place (the lens) which looks ok when they are facing right out of the screen, but when you turn them the lens on the eyes stay in the same position looking kinda weird ... Don't know if anyone else is getting this, also playing on 1680x1050 through the fix which was included in the patch.

What are your system specs? Are you using more than 4 GB RAM and a NVIDIA card perhaps?

Intel core 2 6600@2.4Ghz 2GB ram and yes, EVGA NVIDIA 8900GT. Well it doesn't matter that much, its only on the character selection screen when making a new game, ingame is ok.

Another thing I noticed since last time I played, you can select 'History' on your character, but once you select a history, go to the talent points and spent some, switch back to history selection and select a different one, the old points stay and you can add new ones to it  . Kinda can max up all the stats right there in the creation of the character :p Jack will bitch at you for 'cheating' but w/e, he`ll let you continue. Maybe you could fix it that when you reselect history the points will reset.

Also when switching too many characters and viewing different histories the game crashes, if u`re interested in it more u can check the log ;) http://www.fileshack.us/get_file.php?id ... .10%29.log

These histories bugs are well know and something I can't fix because the whole thing is hard-coded and Troika never finished the histories.
