Soloing and resting

Post by Kharas »

Uh when you make a solo game, say for example kensai/mage. What do you do when you need to get healed? I mean, you need to have healing spells in the party for the resting to work right? I was thinking of doing the game 3 man and it would be such a waste to have a cleric just for the resting, and I wanted to try out a kit, or atleast a pure class without having to dual class my own character to get the resting benefit. what do you guys do?

Edit* I was thinking of doing a stealth team (yeah I know, it's not necessary but I like the idea) consisting a bard (Haer'dalis), archer and assasin, but obviously the resting bit would cause trouble. Cause I mean, a cleric in that team wouldnt make sence at all :p

Either don't take damage. As a mage class you can make yourself immune to pretty much all damage, and resting/potions/bhaalspawn powers will take care of the rest.

Otherwise, get regen items. You'll most likely have a thief, so pickpocked Barteman for the ring of regen and it'll fully heal you while resting and so on.

Don't neglect the power of a ranger/cleric though. They're more than worthy a spot in a 3-men party.

Yeah just noticed, cleric/ranger looks really really interesting. Thanks a bunch for the tips though. Come to think of it, there is that troll cloak that rests you up in 3 seconds without even resting :p

If you have the Bhaalspawn power "DuHM" a great trick is to cast it right before resting. If you can get your CON at 20 or above, you'll regenerate.

That was the item I was trying to remember, but couldn't. Early available and usably by all classes. Maybe not wizard slayers, but that'd be it. :)

For those playing solo, there is a stone in the Umar Hills which heals. Whilst not particularly useful during combat, if worn during resting it is quite effective.
There is also a belt which gives total healing available in the sewers in exchange for some potions. Very useful in combat.

I've never heard of those items Grimwald.

Just use potions, you'll have what two thousand of them? I personally use vampiric touch like mad or use the ring of regeneration.

I love vampiric touch.

Spoiler in answer to the last post.
The stone in the Umar Hills is found in the middle of the flame you have to cross. The belt is a quest given by someone near the black marketeer. It might be a mod but I'm not sure.

I figured out that it was the Ioun Stone you were referrring to, but I think the belt has to be from a mod, one that I haven't played at that.

I thought that I would investigate this belt, but have found that the quest is no longer there, so it probably is a mod. Does anyone know the mod that has somebody near the sea troll in the temple sewers who sends you for a potion list?

No, but I'd suppose it came from something like Unfinished Buisness or some a Quest Pack.
