You mean as per the 3rd level spell? Shouldn't the regular spellshops have them?

@Thrifalas. Yes, the 3rd level spell "Remove Magic (Abjuration)". I checked every shop I could think of daytime/nighttime around Athkatla and it's environs and couldn't find it anywhere. Quite odd?

Spoiler below.
Spoiler
The one and only Remove Magic scroll you will find is located in Deirex's Tower in the drow city of Ust-Natha (Underdark, chapter 5). There are some other rare low-level scrolls like Spook and Contagion. If you're looking for more copies of those spells, search the shop of Lazarus Librarius in Saradush (Throne of Bhaal expansion).

BTW, it is wise to pick Remove Magic, Spook and Contagion at character creation, because if you rely on arcane heavy party, there won't be enough of those for everyone. Thank God ally mages usually come with Remove Magic in their books.

P.S. The Remove Magic scroll in Deirex's tower is specially designed for Haer'dalis - because he has the highest wizard level in SoA and can unleash a Remove Magic at maximum efficiency.

Remove magic should be pretty common, I could swear there's quite a few available. Without re-installing SOA I would say the night time thieves in the Promenade and Bridge District should have scrolls or Ribald Barterman.

They're definitely not that hard to find.

I've just checked every merchant I could think of, and none of them were selling the spell. My current party doesn't have any arcane casters, so I wouldn't have bought one already. I also don't have any in my packs, so I haven't found one either. They might drop as random loot, but I wouldn't want to spend my life trying to find one that way.

I was unable to check the merchants in Ust Natha though, as they are all deceased.

PS I have been able to search the tower Saros referred to though, and found no Remove Magic scroll, or in House of Jae'llat, I did find other scrolls however. So it would seem that it does drop as random loot if Saros found it there. Could take a murderous number of reloads to get lucky if that's the case though.

In the past I've picked them up by chance. But it is odd that no merchant seems to have them. I checked the Underground merchants and no dice..except maybe the Snirfneblin merchant. Definitely not duegar or Drow merchants though . Even the lass who appears in front of the entrance to the way down to the tree of life doesn't have one.

Note to self. Choose Remove Magic at creation screen. Check.(Fezek checks box under "spells to choose at creation")

Sorry to disappoint you all, but scrolls of Remove Magic are impossible to obtain via random loot (from monsters, crates, chests, etc.). As I said, there is only one scroll of Remove Magic in SoA.

I picked one up in Irenecus's dungeon, but that's a bit late for you, and I do have mods installed which might have a bearing on things.

Well there wasn't one in Deirex's Tower when I searched it yesterday, so how do you explain there being one there when you searched, and none when I did? Maybe you were running a mod that put one there perhaps.

The easiest solution is to use Shadow Keeper and add the spell with that. You can download it here: Shadow Keeper

I have just remembered that when you go to pick up Aerie that there is always a remove magic scroll in one of the pots. There must also be one at the beginning of the game as you always get one using the dungeonbegone mod. If you wanted to you could cheat and get two by picking one up and then going back and using the short cut.
Just realised that the scrolls that I am referring to are "Dispell magic" is that what you are referring to, or is it another scroll?

It's another one. They're exactly the same except that "Remove" only targets enemies.

BG2+TOB
official patch
G3 fixpack

This is my install. The scroll is located on the 1st floor of Deirex's Tower.

I don't use the lst two mods, so either it's one of those that put it there, or it was random loot. Monsters certainly can, and do, carry random loot by the way, not sure about containers, but I think some do.

I can confirm that there is a scroll of Remove Magic in one of the cabinets inside Deirex's house. It's on the eastern side of the eastern room. This applies to a fresh installation of TOB with the official patch (no mods). If you can't find it, then you're either looking in the wrong place, or maybe you're using a mod that removes the, er, magic. :)

Curiouser, and curiouser, I definitely checked every container in the tower, and there was no remove magic scroll. It's unlikely that any mod I'm using would change anything in that tower, which leaves me very puzzled.

Maybe Saros was on the right track when he said it was specifically for Haer D, as the party that I used didn't have an Arcane casters in it, maybe that has an effect on what you find!? Seems unlikely I must admit.
