Gold Rush

Post by mberry »

I am at the Gold Rush quest in Chapter III. I know that I will have to pick a side and while there is no right or wrong side, is their any concensus as to the most satisfying side to pick?

I chose the scoia'tael side because, in my opinion, it makes the most sense morally concerning geralt's character (especially at the end).

But also the knights seem to drop more money than the scoia'tael.

Is it possible to remain neutral?

Only up to a point and then you are forced to choose a side. I chose the scoia'tael because they are more interesting and Siegfried irritated me.

It does not seem to make much difference though (yet) - the dwarf blackmsith will not trade with me but the Order will - go figure

Yeah, it is. Unfortunately, I imagine that is the hardest path because everyone wants to kill you.

Plus, Yaevinn helps you a lot in the 5th chapter and epilogue.

Remaining neutral pretty much assumes neither side was right in this... and I thought the Scoia'tael had every right to be angry because the humans violated the nonhumans' rights XD

Mechanicaly, how do you stay neutral? Is it in a later chapter? In Gold Rush there was no option to stay neutral.

You'll be able to choose neutrality at the end of Chapter IV. There isn't any way to stay neutral in Gold Rush.

SWC
Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Thank you. That is what I wanted to know. I don't really care for either side. I mean locking people in a crypt with ghouls is not nice. And I don't see theat the Order is much better.
