Fast and effective duel wield

Post by Valkos »

I want to make a duel wielder.

Now I want to get the most out of one, meaning I would like to hear, what you think would provide the best classmix for bonus to duel wield, the best dmg, the best defence and the best versatility.

The most important thing is to get as many of the feats as possible. There's a lot, so taking fighter levels helps. Be sure you can meet the dex requirement. Consider rolling a human, elf or tiefling for these things. Also: Dual wield is very powerful when sneak attacking. Rogue works.
Sage plays a paladin,
because other classes would be frowned upon for laying their hands on a wounded companion

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

I was not thinking along the lines of the wiki builds. I was looking for the feats, the classes and the combinations that would optimize a duel wielder almost to the fullest. Being it a sneaker or a true melee warrior, it can be anything really.

Rogue 12
Fighter 4
Invisible Blade 5
Blackguard 9

or..

Rogue 10
Fighter 6
Invisible Blade 5
Blackguard 9

High Bluff.. Feint character selecting Crippling Strike at 10th level Rogue and Epic Precision when appropriate.

High Dexterity starting value - 20, allowing for Perfect Two Weapon fighting at character level 21.

Damage - Sneak Attack and Weapon Specialization Kukri.

In-game, because of damage modifiers with enchantments, a build like the various kama-type builds is more powerful at higher epic levels.. BUT if you limit those enchantments then this is a more powerful build.

I would say

Rogue 10
Fighter 8
IB 5
BG 7

is better due to GWF, EWF

plus I think the gamebanshee info is wrong about BG and you don't get 3rd sneak die until 10...anyhow thats what someone once commented on a build I proposed.

You are correct - the progression doesn't work out.. BAD, BAD Gamebanshee! :D

Do you need the extra Fighter levels? (I haven't worked through the feat requirement for the build.)

If not.. how about:

Rogue 16
Fighter 5
IB 5
BG 4

We might be able to tack-on Epic Dodge with that.
