Crash at start up!
Crash at start up!
Hi. I am trying to use KOTOR on a computer with windows vista. Whenever I try to run it it crashes. It turns on and then crashes instantly and says it will notify me if there is a solution! Any1 have an idea what might be wrong?

How much RAM do you have.
Vista is a memory hog, it usually takes 1 gig of RAM to run vista successfully, 1.5 to 2 gigs to run Vista WITH modern video games. If you only have a gig, then it might be crashing as it's too much a strain on the game itself along with vista.

I remember coming across people who have problems running this game in Vista a while ago at both the KOTOR and KOTOR 2 sections. This is the thread I saw while doing a search. It is from the KOTOR 2 section but I hope it helps.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
