Casting Graphics

Post by Daxtreme »

Why is it so when I cast some spells, such as Contingency and Chain Contingency, there is a swarm of little white dots appearing and dropping to my feet? They look so much like a bug.

I also added some spells to myself such as Daer'Ragh's Aura Cleansing using Shadowkeeper, and insta-kill spells cast by Irenicus, and instead of the graphics it displays in the video, it displays those white dots again.

Any ideas? Is it happening to everyone too?

Have you tried to change you game's video settings? Can't remember currently what it was called, but I think there was a option that was especially described to "fix" the spell graphics, turning the more simple. The difference is so small that simpler graphics in casting animation probably won't be noticeable.

I tried reducing or disabling everything from 3D acceleration to spell effects, and the white dots either don't appear at all (and, consequently, nothing appears), or they still show.

A remember a "rain" of white dots as a normal graphic for chain contingency.
So i guess it's correct, and NOT a bug. :)

Cheers!!!

There is a mod out there, can't remember which one, that changes the casting graphics to those from Icewind Dale. I prefer those to the ones in the unmodded Baldur's Gate.
