Hi there, First of all i admit my pc is old, but will KOTOR run on these specs;
1.7 P4 processor, 512 RAM , 64mb GeForce2 series, and Windows XP professional. thanks

I've had the game lock up on me when loading new areas and it's nice to be able to give it another try without having to replay a lot of the game.

There is another place to take into consideration when playing this game: Dantooine. The very place where you'll encounter lots of lag and warping.

shutting down all background programs helps too. Now, I use my ZoneAlarm to shut down internet activity completely and turn off my spyware blockers and stuff like that. It's made a noticeable difference for me.
