I cant use magic missile !!
Its been awhile since I played this.I decided to start over.I just installed the 3rd patch so I beleive I have installed all 3 of them. When my wizard tries to use magic missile it says the number is over 500 of them which makes it impossible to use.Any ideas on this problem?

This problem pops up for some people as a result of the fix patch 3 does for the looting bug (which changes targetting, requiring a change in the spell mechanics to compensate). The author of the better solution to the looting problem, namely temple.zip instead of patch 3, has fixed this problem with his patch, but I am unsure if his solution is compatible with patch 3 only. The best thing to do is uninstall and reinstall with patch 2 only and then temple.zip. The installation of temple.zip, including the new spell files in the data folder, will fix this problem for you.

1. Unzip the patch. (Double click the folder you downloaded and choose the extract all files option in the corner of the window (XP))
2. Find the file in you GAME'S directory called "temple.dll" and remove it. (Put it somewhere you can find it again.)
3. Take the "temple.dll" file from the unzipped patch folder and put it where the original file was.
4. Inside the patch folder should be a folder called "data". Inside that folder should be three new folders. Take all of them and put them into the game's "data" folder.

(Use the lastest 1.3 build - it's still beta, but stable and far better than 1.2)

Using Co8 patches & mods
The current patches & mods at Co8 are incompatible with patch 3. They are actually better, though. You'll have to remove patch 3, prob'ly by installing #2 over it, before using Co8 material. Lot's of extra content, well worth it.

problem with the patch...
When I downloaded the patch, the data folder and the other three new folders were not in there. Altermatively, I have uninstalled the game completely and will reinstall it. However, when I go to put the patch on for the level uncapper (temple.dll) how can I install the spell information without freezing up the game when I have my wizard cast magic missile (the game freeze or not able to end the turn as previously mentioned)?
