This is an early rumour. It's some aussie (or Kiwi) actress now.

Thanks for the link. I don't recognize the actror (last name Otto) but I feel better about the film already.

I recall seeing a British animated version of "The Return of the King". It was true to the story, as far as I recall, but fairly slow and full of dreadful music. Possibly done by the same company that did "the Hobbit", but completely unlike the animated "Fellowship" from the early 80's. My question is, are there two earlier films that accompany this ancient cartoon of the Third Volume?

Aegnor:

(Fine Noldor name, by the way)

You are correct, the "Return of the King" was made by the same folks (Rankin-Bass) that made the Hobbit. They did NOT make animated movies of the Fellowship or the Two Towers. There was apparently a battle going on between Tolkien enterprises and the Bashki people, who were SUPPOSED to have finished the LotR story; my understanding is that the "differences" led to them losing the rights, which were given back to R/B.

I have all 3 of these on video, and again I agree, the music of RotK kind of grates on you...except I love "Where there's a whip, there's a way!". The movie did a fairly decent job of telling the story in the short running time it had, and at least they used the same voices from the Hobbit.

I think in order to not get disappointed from watching a movie that you have read from a book before, you have to understand your imagination is always going to be better than what you can see. Image

Therefore you have to make sure that watching LotR is to enjoy, not to criticise.

Only get upset when the storyline doesn't make sense, or when the actor can't act, OK. Image

Hello everybody! new here. Excuse me, Phil, you were wrong on Earendil and Elwing (BOTH had human relatives, Elwing had Beren as grand father and Earendil had Tour as father), it should Beren and Luthien, then Tour (oddly enough a axewielder, although two-handed) and Idris (daughter of Turgon, the second eldest son of Fingolfin), and then we have Aragorn and Arwen.

BTW isn't this a little bit off topic?

If someone's still interested, yes, liches can be turned with a high level priest. Anomen at a high level turned several liches, with at least 60%-70% possibility of success.

The Reason that this looks off topic is because its a old topic, as you can see.
A Lich can be turn by a high level cleric, its dificult but not impossible.
