i have a question about a few skills.
first is has anybody ever pumped scribe? Is it worth putting a couple million point into it? if anybody has ever pumped this skill, at what point do you notice a faster write rate when not in camp mode?
second has any1 ever done a magic weapons pump? i read a post about somebody pumping it and doing like 200 melee dmg!? i just would like to know as i have paladin/wizard classes and at lvl9 magic weapons its only 3500 points to advance it (yeah real cheap). If anybody has pumped this skill at what lvl do you notice gains when using melee dmg. i am using a kama of the flame as i have not entered the naga temple yet and would like to know if i should train on moonbeast a little longer and pump these skills as well as arcaine and spellfire.
might post later if i get bored and pump them anyways.
skill questions
fond a few answers
i have been reading the forums while posting a few of my opinions and stumbled across a few answers i have read that magic weapons was "fixed" in CE and no longer increases melee dmg. if any1 has tested please let me know.
also while looking around i havent found a deffinate answer as to pump scribe or not. i think most is false statements as nobody can give a clear answer. i am more interested in wether to pump scribe or not, as i am a paladin/wizard and will use magic more than melee.

Well, if you used the bargain cheat to get 1000 cataclysms and the same amount of everything else, scribe won't make a diddly squat of a difference because you're invincible already... but if you play legit (=without bargain), it makes your arcane magic recharge faster (duh). About 8 points (don't know the exact number) and it recharges twice as fast.

hmmm
well i have played with a dedicated hacked character for about a day and have found out that bleeding wounds, hawkeye, and critical strike are junk. they work some but not as much as they should(since im hacked they are lvl99). bleeding wounds works more than the other two do, about 3 or 4 times more often. iron will is awsome get hit and dont flinch. iron will is at 40 and i can stand in the minator pit and not flinch a bit. drain life ability works as i never need potions or crystals of healing. i havent got shadow lord ability to work so i cannot comment on how it works. spellfire i think matters up to a certian lvl and after that its useless to put more points into it. all the magic skills are definately worth putting as many points into as possible (bloodlust lasts for about 5 minutes along with all rune auraus and celestrial orbs and nether enhancements. my skills for them are 40. arcaine is just the best skill in the game imho. i have it hacked to 250 and can hit 430+ with magic missile(yes a lvl 2 spell). i dont know how much iceball does as it kills the minatours 1hit, same with all the nova's. i have scribe and channel hacked to 40 each and channel works better than scribe does. i have 1k of each spell and i never run out because everything is just 1hit kill and with 40scribe they recharge b4 i find another group of enemies. i will test fireball and stone shards later. i have my stats pretty good 255each except for dex which is at 89 and with all trinkets and rings my strike is at 117 and i can still hit pretty good with a no-dachi of the night and a demonic katana(trying to get better critical, which didnt work). i had dexterity up to 155 and couldnt hit sand if i fell off a camel in the desert(strike was then 189). if any1 has any questions about anything i didnt mention please post and i will try to test it asap.

What??? You had the strike bug with a strike rating of 189? :speech: Man, I would so love to get the strike bug myself... but unfortunately I never got it. When one of my characters goes over 100 strike the monsters get a bit harder to hit, but I never had it happen that my character couldn't hit at all any more, I think that would be so funny. Yeah, of course it can make the character unplayable but I'd simply like to see that bug in action. If I knew what character has the lowest costs for dexterity points I might make a high-dex character to see whether I can get my strike up to a too high amount...

I've had the strike bug happen, so I stop training dexterity at 85 now. It's very frustrating, actually, only being able to use magic and ranged weaponry to do damage.
I disagree that Critical Strike is useless. In fact, I rather enjoy that skill, especially when I get swarmed. Hawkeye is less usefull, but only because it rarely works before you get swarmed, and then you need to go melee. Bleeding Wounds is great, too, adding as much as 20 damage to a single hit, as well as knocking the bleeding enemy back a step when it does the extra damage (Bleeding Wounds + Critical Strike = WIN!).
It does help, though, if you have weapons that increase the probability of these skills working, such as the Elven Blood Sword and Demonic Katana; much more so if you are dual wielding them.
