The eyeball and a demon *SPOILER*

Post by SupaCat »

After a long time, I decided to play Torment again for the 3th time. I'm in the smoldering bar now and I remember that when you talk with Ilquix and disagree with his believes, he attacks you. I also remember that you can get an eye from
the bartender. My problem? No matter what I say against Ilquix, he won't attack me. It doesn't matter if I agree of disagree with his believes. My other problem is that when I buy the eyeball and try to put it in me, I bleed to death and awake in the Mortuary. I don't think this should happen and my eyeball doesn't change either.
I've recently installed the patch 1.1
Thanks anyway

Ilquix won't attack you unless you physically strike him first.

Everything concerning the eyeball happens just as it's supposed to. The eyeball picture isn't supposed to change and you are supposed to die from this encounter.

Wrong

If your stats (int or wis, I forgot) are high enough you can put back your eye and you'll receive new memories and exp
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

I edited the thread title in order to clarify that the thread contains spoilers. Please do mark you threads *spoiler* if it contains information that reveals part of the story, items you will find and the like. Thank you.

This is the deal with most encounters in the game. There are a LOT of things that you can or can't do depending on your stats, so playing through the game a second time and thinking you already know how an encounter will look or end is a huge mistake.

Inserting the eye isn't "supposed" to kill you. It does a set amount of damage - I think 10 or 15hp or something like that. It -can- kill you if you're half dead when you put it in, but if you're fully healed when you do it, it won't kill you.

And no, Ilquix would never just attack you for disagreeing with him. But, if you get into a fight with the devils in the bar, Ilquix may decide to get involved. Your odds of getting into a fight with them goes way up if you play out the Restored Pendant of Yemeth quest from my Unfinished Business mod. SKARDAVNELNATE's AIP restores that quest as well.
