Arrow of Extrication (Thieves guild quest)

Post by Smidge »

I hate this quest >_<
I've been stuck on it for over a week now.

I've gotten into the castle and into the secret chamber (from that guys room)
and I have the green arrow on the map, telling me which way to go, but I cant get to it, all the walls are blocked and stuff, I just dont get it.

Help please? :o

oh, and I'm on pc.

Where are you? (spoilers)

Did you already use the arrow? If so, now you need to find a way into the library. You will need to pick the lock where the green arrow is indicating a door. In one direction of this new outer library area is a blind monk sitting on a chair. Facing his back and on your right is a lever that you can move. It opens a secret door down the same passage at the other end. Entering that door you are now in the library and ready to get the scroll. Be sure to read the clues your journal is giving you and save before sitting down. Once you have the scroll you will still need to escape.

I think UncleScratchy is pointing you through the wrong quest. The one he's talking about is the final quest but I know which one your talking about. I assume you've gotten to the part in his chamber where you see a deep, deep chasm that has slaughterfish and a rather nasty surprise at the bottom? This is where you want to go. For this part I suggest using Night-Eye and turning your light settings up high because you need to swim down part of this chasm(and make sure to stay on the same side of the wall that your compass is pointing you towards. Roughly halfway down the chasm you'll see a man-sized tunnel for you to swim through. Everything after this should be clear cut.(I also suggest using Water Breathing if available.) Spoiler: At the very bottom of the chasm is a ginormous Slaughterfish that is a good challenge to fight. If you fell this beast you will get a lot of extra good loot.

Ah. I think I know where you are. Check out the little pillars each side of an alcove. One of 'em can be moved to open a wall. THEN you get to the places to do the stuff the other posters have mentioned. Look for levers, too. I think. Been a while since I did this quest.

I think Smidge already found the secret room that you are talking about, but I don't remember any levers though. Just movable pillars is the only kind of switch in his hideout.

No, you only need to go right to the bottom (highlight to read spoiler)
Spoiler
if you want to kill the giant fish - and there is an alternative way out, down there, too.
end spoil

But part way down - not far, and on the left as you come to the water on your way in - is an underwater passage that will lead you to where you need to go.
