Mission's Brother quest doesn't ACTIVATE
Mission's Brother quest doesn't ACTIVATE
I'll talk to mission for the first Bracket and she'll say everything she needs to, but the problem is, the 'missions brother' quest refuses to activate. [Currently I'm on Taris]
If it doesn't activate, i am fairly certain that means i'll be stuck permanently without being able to meet [and kill] Griff [for DS points]
How do i get that quest to activate? is it possible to alter the data in my saved files?

I think you need to wait until (Leena) the girl Griff ran off with shows up. She'll turn up as you walk near the Ebon Hawk. I'm not sure how long it takes after you talk to Mission about Griff.

The way I normally do it is that when I advance a plot (complete or move a step closer to completing a quest) I talk to my party members.
With Mission, I usually can talk to her right away to find out she has a brother. Once I've given the Promised Land journals away, I talk to her, find out her brother is a deadbeat loser, and had a girlfriend named Lena. It's not enough to just know he had a girlfriend, you still have to find out more. Usually I'm able to talk to Mission about it after I win the swoop race.
You'll then have to wait until Dantooine. Lena's on Dantooine and is the one who tells you where Griff is.
I would advise you not to kill him. Yeah it does give you dsp, but when I did it the game got a little buggy. It still had the quest as active. Also, I talked to Mission right after and she still wanted to find Griff, even though he was clearly dead by my hand.

I once found that if you´re exiting the Ebon Hawk on Dantooine with Mission in your party, and you regret that and change partymembers, Lena will, if she´s about to initiate that conversation with Mission, stand still in the spot where she spawns. I did that once and wondered when she would show herself. I paid a visit to the shop in the Enclave before leaving the planet, and there she was, standing still. I switched Mission into my party, and suddenly she started talking to Mission.
So, in that case it was my own fault that she didn´t speak to my party initially.

I found out side quest NPCs don't spawn on a particular planet. The quest NPCs are generated just out of the Ebon Hawk if you've advanced the dialogue story far enough and if you have the related NPC in your party. Get as far as you can with each story every time you level up, then exit the Ebon Hawk with the NPC you want to work with. if you are at the proper place in the story, the related NPC will spawn right near the ship. If you walk away from the ship and no cutscene happens, you are not far enough along in the dialogue. I KNOW this works for Mission with Leena, Juhani with that creep, Jolie with his friend, Carth with the guy who tells him about his son. The walkthrough doesn't mention this, if they even realized it. It's been awhile, but I messed with this alot.

I played through as a light sider and went through the entire game with mission in my party, and talked to her up to the point of her saying "hey, I'm not gonna let my search for Griff get in the way of you, so don't worry. Anything else you need?" no matter what I said or how many times I asked her about Griff. I never switched her out of my party and leveled both of us up to 20 (I am under the impression that you need a certain amount of XP to trigger talk points).
The way I advance NPC sidequests is to take them out of the Ebon Hawk and talk to them. Its MUCH easier then screwing around with spawn points.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and only 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face
Okay, now I played through again as a light sider with Mission in my party, and got Lena to finally talk to me. The rest of her side-quest was fine as well. Yet I did the same thing as last time. Glitch?
