Deidre & Astral Prison questions

I just have two possibly obvious questions.

1.) I am playing BG2 on a Mac. Is their any way to access the items sold by Deidre in the Adventurers Mart? I am a mage and the Robe of Venca would be nice.

2.) I am at a point in the game where I want to do the Haer'dalis/Astral Prison quest but I don't have Aerie in my party and Quayle has not contacted me yet. How would I get started on that adventure?

I don't know the answer to 1, but to start the planar sphere quest just go to the theatre under the Five Flagons inn as I recall.

Yeah. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Quayle. There was some sort of quest planned for Aerie that started with a summons by Quayle, but all save the summons never materialized in the final product.

I came across it, coming from a different direction. I met Haer'dalis in the temple sewers, having first got the relevant key. That is how I got the gem that I needed, and he pointed me in the right direction.

ye for me it was like that the first time to, a rather random adventure this way, i like the way u experience with arie more, exp when u date with her and take hear in your grp :mischief: although there is no way to finally get her in the end that way

and to your first question, did you try the fix for that ?
i dont know if this has anything to do with a mac or not, but there are mods who add her into the game, afai recall even on this page

yeah, I have no clue how to add any mods and it's really not that huge a deal if I don't have those items. maybe I could just buy the PC version and use bootcamp or something next time I play. As for the Astral prison quest, I started it no problem. Thanks for the help!
