My spinning avatar brain is actually modelled after the MRI images of a real brain, but I do not know whether that brain was male or female so I don't know if it's a heterosexual or homosexual contact between the snail and the brain.
Maybe if you offered that brain a nice present and a few drinks, it would open up and reveal its gender, music and flower preferences, favorite reading matter at bedtime, etc.

You are right, I completely forgot about that. I would guess Dottie's avatar is a land snail, and all land living snails are also hermaphrodites. (I think it is only ocean living snails who can be differently sexed.)
That's not the same kind of gender confusion we're talking about in this message thread, though, unless the snail and the brain are both trying to assume the same gender role at the same time. :)
So, the snail's hermaphroditic nature makes both a homosexual and a heterosexual relationship possible regardless of the gender of the brain. I do hope they both have the same sexual preference though - what if the brain is homosexual but the snail is hetero?

Good idea, maybe Dottie's snail would like to know? Now I am not sure of the snail's intentions, but for a long lasting relationship it could be good to know the gender as well as the literature taste in one's object of desire.

Locke, all you need to do is import a special tandoori clay oven, and use a coal fire and a special basting sauce made out of a number of Indian spices to prepare chicken tandoori. It's relatively easy, and will give you something to do over those long winter days when you can't risk looking outdoors for fear that your gaze will be frozen. ;)
well if that's all it needs then i'll order one right away.. you wouldn't happen to know a deliverer that comes to europe?? ;)

what? oozit's a girl??? nah, prolly part of his twisted mind or smth.. :p :p

No wonder he kept climbing all over me. Oozit, that growth there makes you a boy, not a female with odd protrusions. :p

Judging from your previous comments, shouldn't be able to tell the gender of that brain from its chemical composition?

At this stage no, since even if there may be for instance hormonal differences, we cannot take any test to measure this. Actually, at molecular level there is no way at all to know if a brain is male or female. At physiological level, you can see that female brains are smaller. But there is a lot of individual variation since brain size is highly correlated to body size. Best is to ask, I think, especially considering the possibility of trans-gender issues and all :D

oh hello, i was just wondering umm, which gender are you..? no matter if you ask that from a brain, even if it could reply it would surely be so offended that relationship would be somewhat doomed from the start don't you think? ;) :D :D :p

I've never pulled that one before, I've had people I've met where you had to wonder and wanted to ask though. My friend had this one girlfriend, and well, we were seriously torn on the issue. :o

Yeah, she had a horrible attitude, so I threw her out of our place (her boyfriend and I were roomies). She got all sorts of upset, so did he. Might have been the "orangutan girl" comment though as well... :p
Perhaps they all need help remembering the nature of their... ahem... 'equipment' :D
Based on my avatar I think my equipment is in check. =)

I am curious though, for males and females, if there is a gender option in any game if you choose the opposite sex?

Personally I play many MMOs, well at least for the 1st 30 days, and make female characters as my main character. No, I do not do it for freebees, I tend to lean more towards the female side strickly for cosmetic reasons. Female characters tend to have more options or more appealing options then male characters IMO. Besides when playing MMOs the view tends to be from the rear of your character and I'm not certain I can stare at the rear of a male character, pixelated or not, for months on end. =)

in RPG's where you can't really see your character properly i go for males.

but smth like morrowind it's nicer to play on females since they look better etc..

@Vondondu&CE: I know that snails are hermaphrodites, but this snail is from a computer game and as such a product of our sexualized culture. This mean the snail is definatly female, with added breasts and make up. It also moves its shell like hips.

The gender of the brain is not important as the brain is a symbol and not a real object.

The snail on the other hand is a real object, or atleast not quite as abstract as the brain.

I wonder where she wears that make up... Snails don't have eyelids or lips, do they...? Considering this she must be just as abstract as the brain :D

The make up she is wearing is for makeing her tentacles seem longer, she also uses a type of oil to make her skin look more moist and slimey

She needs to make it looks new, I guess. Try oil paint. :D
