Sounds more like a job for Ed Wood (Plan 9 from Outer Space etc). He'd bring out the best in the script for sure.
Just catching up after a few weeks holiday. Good to see homage to Mad Max in the strip (as well as the return of the killer bunny).
I visited Aswan (amongst other places). Walk a couple of hundred yards from the Nile and there's nothing but sandy desert. I find sandy deserts to be (a) hot (b) uncomfortable (c) utterly charmless. Australian deserts are often infested by flies, Egyptian deserts by touts pestering you to hire their camel or buy their trinkets. In neither case do these add to the attraction of the place.

Heh, cool ep there, Kay! Can you say bunniephobia?
Dude, I always loved the whole idea of a huge army of white knights in shiny armor and dinky swords battling it out on a huge green field with the occasional river and a forest every now and then.
The Arabian medieval style is also very attractive, however, the whole no armor and scimitar-style.
And then there are the Danish vikings! Gnarly!

Take a trip to Lut Gholein in Diablo II, and I believe your perception of deserts in games changes. That city and setting is my favorite of any RPG city/settings. It was just beautiful, and the entire act was fun. The best Act of Diablo II, by FAR (though the Arcane Sanctuary was weak). Truly...if there were more games with that sort of place, Id be in the gamer pleasure dome...er something.
Though, overall, Brynnlaw is a close second in my favorite settings in games.

Ya talking to me???
IWD2 minor spoiler: The drow settlement in IWD2 was very cool too, awsome detailed graphics. And oooh, they remembered the time-counting tower-thingy-dingy...

Nope. You liked the arabian look, so that wasnt directed at you. I was directing it more at Kayless, as he doesnt like the sands. But meh.
Heh. That place was pretty good...just a little dark. Driders are cool. Though I liked the Duergar settlement a bit better. And the Monastary was awesome....

"An iron maiden. It looks almost cozy in a "bloody spikes driven your head and chest"-sort of way."
God I laughed at that!

Perhaps, but isn't he dead now?

I should have called the issue Lepus Beyond Thunderdome.

Fortunately Sauron wiped them all out before the Last Alliance. All hail the Dark Lord!

Hey, does anyone know what the clinical name for a fear of rabbits is called?

Yeah, Tolkien based the Rohan on the Anglo/Saxons; i.e. the legend of Beowulf and all that cool viking stuff. I like windy mountains and rolling hills. I don't like hot, humid, sandy places. It's like living on a beach without the redeeming ocean nearby.

I hate Lut Gholein because of all those damn jumping critters that wouldn't hold still and let my paladin kill them. I hate chasing down those (f)suckers (the damn fetish from act3 are even worse). Give me a nice cool Harrogath any day.

Brynnlaw was cool. But Zelda 64 had some of the best ambience when it came to locations. Though I didn't like the Gerudo Valley (you guessed it, a desert locale).

curses, that's sure to seriously damage the high production values and attention to the little details that he made his trademark!

I'm not sure how the SYMians would react to be directed by a corpse... I take that back, since they seem to do alright around fable.

Heh. I thought those leapers were cool...only problem was that they healed themselves. I sniff a new avatar in my future. Heh.
I liked 50% of act 5, but I hate the 3 barbarians on nightmare level...its basically impossible. And those imps....those imps are my least favorite creature in the game. My favorite to least favorite acts:
Favorite: Act II: Lut Gholein
2nd-Act III: Kurast
3rd-Act V: Harrogath
4th-Act I: Rogue Pass
5th-Act IV: Chaos Sanctuary
Heh. Never played Zelda.
