Mutants unite!

Post by Jaesha »

Just saw the trailer for the new X-men movie, scheduled for may 2nd, 2003. Watch the trailer, and read all about it in a perculiar dimension, entirely without dancing frogs.
I think it looks awe, always been a big fan of marvel comics and I liked the first x-men movie. Opinions, anyone?

***EDIT***: I´m turning this into a marvel discussion thread.
Marvel fans, knock yourself out.

Well Ive loved X-men since I was a kid, but I thought the first X-men movie was a mockery of the whole thing. The movie was too hyped up and had no points where I was really excited or into the movie...maybe once where Toad died...but that was kind of stupid too...Toad deserved a better showing then what he got in the movie. I hope in the 2nd X-men movie they select better villians, get a little better plot, at least, and make the movie generally more fun to see. So I guess to sum it all up, The first X-men movie was increadibly disappointing, and I have high hopes they improve upon it.

One of things I´m looking most forward to is seeing Nightcrawler and Pyro in action. Hope they don´t mess up everything with NC, his german accent for one...

Pyro is the man! :D And Collosus is cool too. Is Collosus being portrayed as a protagonist or antagonist? As he did fight for both sides. He was once good, then turned evil.

@Nipples, yeah, hopefully we´ll see him too. Rumours has it Gambit will star too in a rogue romance.
Really hope Iceman will have a bigger role...

I think it sucks that Magneto becomes an ally, the only way he could become that was as joseph. Also, the new villain should be someone like Onslaught, not some Stryker dude who´s not even a mutant...
Oh, and Banshee, Blink and Psylocke (Blink would be hootie!) would be awesome too!

Is he really Storm´s brother, cuz I have never really figured that part out?

I started the gambit vs wolvie thread a bit ago..

.. but my views remain the same. Gambit rocks, albiet wouldn't fit in a movie screenplay (he would have to have so little to do witht he actual story considering hsi characters natural ability to shine hehe...

Gambit rocks.

Also if I could see anyone (next to gambit of course) it would be Mr. Sinister, he always tripped me out.

Ah! Mr Sinister, that dude was pretty scary. I have to admit, Gambit is also a cool character. Lots of shrouded past and so on. Entertaining.

What a horrible, horrible place that must be! :( (P.S. I actually posted a link to this over here ). Also note that this isn't an actual trailer released for theatres, but a preview shown to a smaller audience at a CON of some sort (and subsequently put online). A new X2 trailer for theatres should air in a few weeks.

Toad died? When was this? Image A special edition I haven't seen yet? Last I saw him he got zapped and tossed in the water (but it's not like that sort of thing stops super villains).

Toad deserved a better showing then what he got in the movie.

Gotta disagree with you here. Toad didn't deserve to have Darth Maul play him. Image

He's one of the students at the school. Apparently he's a supporting character, but he does get one good transformation scene. Image

No romance that I know of, he just gets a little cameo. A proverbial bone thrown to his fans.

Stryker is representing humanity. You know, the people who hate and fear mutants. :p The filmmakers want to showcase more of the series key symbolism (i.e. racism). Can’t say I disagree with that. Though Stryker apparently was involved with Weapon-X, so he's not exactly a normal dude.

Yikes! Is this some new development in the comic? If so, that's just f#%$ing weird. I mean, Storm's black for God's sake! Image

Me knows, me knows! Wondered a lot bout that one too...

Agree with you about Toad, he´s just a suckerpunch.

Read the thing about Stryker, I just don´t like it very much... I mean, he´s not very well known in the comic, and he´s not exactly super-villain material in my eyes...

And yeah, Sinister is the man!
