To prove that not all the lyrics I post are dark and depressing.... :)

For You

There're no words to say
No words to convey
This feeling inside I have for you

Deep in my heart
Save from the guards
Of intellect and reason
Leaving me at a loss
For words to express my feelings

Deep in my heart
Look at me losing control
Thinking I had a hold
But with feelings this strong
I'm no longer the master
Of my emotions

When you see the notes erupt from the speakers and the color is red is screaming at you, only one song can be playing:

Jimi Hendrix
1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)

Hurrah i awake from yesterday
alive but the war is here to stay
so my love catherina and me
decide to take our last walk
through the noise to the sea
not to die but to be re-born
away from a life so battered and torn....
forever...
oh say can you see its really such a mess
every inch of earth is a fighting nest
giant pencil and lip-stick tube shaped things
continue to rain and cause screaming pain
and the arctic stains
from silver blue to bloody red
as our feet find the sand
and the sea is strait ahead..
strait ahead.....
well its too bad
that our friends
cant be with us today
well thats too bad
"the machine
that we built
would never save us"
thats what they say
(thats why they aint coming with us today)
and they also said
"its impossible for man
to live and breath underwater..
forever" was their main complaint
(yeah)
and they also threw this in my face:
they said
anyway
you know good well
it would be beyond the will of God
and the grace of the King
(grace of the King yeah yeah)

so my darling and I
make love in the sand
to salute the last moment
ever on dry land
our machine has done its work
played its part well
without a scratch on our bodies
and we bid it farewell

starfish and giant foams
greet us with a smile
before our heads go under
we take a last look
at the killing noise
of the out of style...
the out of style, out of style

In honour of Brian Wilson...

The man is a bona fide genius  Shame music can't be posted on here, some lyrics will have to do ;)

Don't Worry Baby - the Beach Boys

Well it's been building up inside of me for oh, I don't know how long
I don't know why but I keep thinking something's bound to go wrong
But she looks in my eyes
And makes me realise
Then she says

Don't worry baby
Don't worry baby
Everything will turn out alright
Don't worry baby
Don't worry baby

I guess I shoulda kept my mouth shut when I start to brag about my car
But I can't back down now because I pushed the other guys too far
She makes me come alive
And makes me wanna cry
When she says

Don't worry baby
Don't worry baby
Everything will turn out alright
Don't worry baby
Don't worry baby

She told me baby when you race today just take along my love with you
And if you knew how much I love you baby nothing could go wrong with you
Oh what she does to me
When she makes love to me
And she says

Don't worry baby
Don't worry baby
Everything will turn out alright
Don't worry baby
Don't worry baby

Message From The Black Star by Laibach

I am the storm bringer and the bearer of light
I set up the Nobel prise and invented dynamite
I raised you up after the fall
Without me you would be nothing, nothing at all

I am the builder of Babel, a stairway to Heaven
He replaced the tower with a million nations
And then He told you to love, love one another
Then again He said, fire! brother against brother

He is the dreamer who demands too much
I am the realist, I expect nothing as such
Beware false idols, belive in me
Beware false idols, belive in me

He says I make work for idle hands
That sloth, envy and rage erode time's sand
Plus gluttony, greed, impurity and pride
That makes seven ways to keep Him occupied

He fulfilled every step in my masterplan
When His son upon this earth did crashland
He was my twin, my faithful negative
It was me who really showed Him to live

He is the dreamer who demands too much
I am the realist, I expect nothing as such
Beware false idols, belive in me
Beware false idols, belive in me

Welcome to Hell, you already know my name
For that you have your Lord Jesus Christ to blame
He did my work well, He was my greatest creation
Through Him I spoke to you and to many a nation

It's hard for you with your dying breath
To speak my name and go into death
Knowing that I and only I am the one

The only one...

One of my favorite love songs...

Dancing Shoes
Dan Fogelberg

Dancing shoes
On the wall above your bedside
Saw it all as we performed
our pirouette
Fleshes fused
As the flicker of the candles
Threw upon the wall a
single silhouette.

Tu es dan ma coeur et dans ma téte...

Dancing shoes
We have loved on distant beaches
Where the winter never reaches
There we fell
Dying swan
On the dawn you danced before me
Though your eyes were dark and stormy
I stood still.

Qui peut dire le faux et le réel?

Dancing shoes
Though the distances divide us
There's a paradise inside us
We can't lose.
Me and you
Dance a 'pas de deux'
Forever
And I pray you never
Shed your dancing shoes...

@ Georgi: That is my all time favorite Beach Boys song... *hug*

Don't Worry Baby is good, but my favourite Beach Boys numbers are Kokomo and Somewhere Near Japan. Not to sure if that's what the second one is called, but you know the one.

*hug*@Thantor :)

@Ode It's not my favourite either, but then most of my favourites have weird lyrics... or no lyrics :D (Have you heard a segment called Our Prayer? It's amazing.) I like Don't Worry Baby, it has a real feelgood vibe ;)

Anyway, if you insist...

Surf's Up - The Beach Boys

A diamond necklace played the pawn
Hand in hand some drummed along, oh
To a handsome man and baton
A blind class aristocracy
Back through the opera glass you see
The pit and the pendulum drawn
Columnated ruins domino

Canvas the town and brush the backdrop
Are you sleeping?

Hung velvet overtaken me
Dim chandelier awaken me
To a song dissolved in the dawn
The music hall a costly bow
The music all is lost for now
To a muted trumpeter swan
Columnated ruins domino

Canvas the town and brush the backdrop
Are you sleeping, Brother John?

Dove nested towers the hour was
Strike the street quicksilver moon
Carriage across the fog
Two-Step to lamp lights cellar tune
The laughs come hard in Auld Lang Syne

The glass was raised, the fired rose
The fullness of the wine, the dim last toasting
While at port adieu or die

A choke of grief heart hardened I
Beyond belief a broken man too tough to cry

Surf's up
Aboard a tidal wave
Come about hard and join
The young and often spring you gave
I heard the word
Wonderful thing
A children's song

Child, child, child, child, child
A child is the father of the man
Child, child, child, child, child
A child is the father of the man
A children's song
Have you listened as they played
Their song is love
And the children know the way
That's why the child is the father to the man
Child, child, child, child, child
Child, child, child, child, child
Na na na na na na na na
Child, child, child, child, child
That's why the child is the father to the man
Child, child, child, child, child

See what I mean?

Aside from a bit of Pink Floyd, none of my favourites have lyrics, or if they do they aren't usually in english.
Have you heard any Mike Oldfield?

Tubular Bells 2 and Song of Distant Earth were more to my liking.
What did you think of it?

I only know the famous bit of Tubular Bells... it's ok I guess, not that exciting ;)

Everyone knows that bit. Ah well, at least you've heard of Oldfield, most people down here haven't even got that to their credit.
Lousy country.

No more surf music. ;)

Killing Floor

Bruce ****enson

So this is dreamtime and all is quiet
So this is dreamtime and all is night
You've never been held
By the hand of God
Who's rockin the cradle
If He is not

He turned the oil into his blood
Panzer divisions burning in the mud
The stain of freedom
He's washed it out
Who's rockin the cradle
I have no doubt

Sleeping eyes awake
and see his thorny gaze
whispers on the wind
The darker side of exctasy

Satan
Has left his killing floor
Satan
Has left his killing floor
Satan
Hellfires burn no more
Satan
Has left his killing floor

So now it's dreamtime for you tonight
So now it's dreamtime and all is quiet
You've never been held
By the hand of God
Who's rockin the cradle
If he is not

Sleeping eyes awake
and see his thorny gaze
whispers on the wind
The neverending breath of fire

Satan
Has left his killing floor
Satan
Has left his killing floor
Satan
His burn no more
Satan
Is coming back for more

If you're going to hate your country, hate it for something important, that's what I say... :D

Hallelujah - as performed by Jeff Buckley

I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the lord
But you don't really care for music do ya
Well it goes like this
The forth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah...
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

Baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
You know, I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
But love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

There was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do ya
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

Well, maybe there's a god above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
It's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's cold and it's a broken hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
Hallelujah, hallelujah...

@BS enough of the popular misconception that the Beach Boys are nothing more than surf music. Let me repeat myself. Brian Wilson is a genius. And that can hardly be said of all those heavy metallers you idolise so much :p

Spoken like a true non-Australian. Believe me, I have a myriad number of reasons for loathing this country. I'd post them, except the short version needed three PMs just to cover the most recent issues of contention I have with my country.
Be thankful you're only coming over here for a holiday.

Surf music killed rock.

Book of Thel
(Bruce ****inson / Roy Z. / Eddie Casillas)

The mark is on you now
The furnace sealed inside your head
Melting from the inside now
Waxy tears run down your face

The whore that never told her tale
Relives it every night with you
Far off stands the lamb and waits
For the wolf to come and end its life

Stand inside the temple
As the book of Thel is opening
The priestess stands before you
Offering her hand out, she's rising

Come the dawning of the dead
In famine and in war
Now the harlot womb of death
Spits out its rotten core

Serpent on the altar now
Has wrapped itself around your spine
So you look into its mouth
And you kiss the pearly fangs divine

Happy that your end is swift
The weeping virgin cries in bliss
The snake and priestess, they are one
The veil of flesh is ripped undone

Stand inside the temple
As the book of Thel is opening
The priestess stands before you
Offering her hand out, she's rising

Come the dawning of the dead
In famine and in war
Now the harlot womb of death
Spits out its rotten core

By the pricking of my thumbs
Something wicked this way comes
And when sleep takes you tonight
Will you wake to see the light?

The burning sweat of poison tears
The river flowing red with blood
The cradle-robbing hand of death
Caresses every dreaming head

Waiting for the marriage hearse
To take you to the funeral pyre
So you burn the family tree
The generations burning higher

Stand inside the temple
As the book of Thel is opening
The priestess stands before you
Offering her hand out, she's rising

Come the dawning of the dead
In famine and in war
Now the harlot womb of death
Spits out its rotten core

By the pricking of my thumbs
Something wicked this way comes
And when sleep takes you tonight
Will you wake to see the light

By the dawning of the dead
By the dawning of the dead
By the dawning of the dead
By the dawning of the dead
