Atlantis is supposed to have been around 12.000-10.000 BC

I know that. I thought Atlantis was rather large, semi-continent size, no? How that can go missing from the entire map?

ps. Is there anyone translate all this thread into Japanese for me? I don't like to talk science in other languages... Image

It was either that or someone had some bad chili. Image Image

@Flagg: See you later. Image

@Waverly: I know that as well... I just don't get why such a large place had gone missing...

The theories are either a volcano or a massive earthquake.
Modern "belivers"/scientist think a volcano - but Plato and Homer both talk about a massive earthquake

I think the size was greatly exaggerated...we could likely find a missing continent Image

But usually, when islands sunk by earthquake or erruption, we can find traces of them. Particularly the size of Creta or Rhodes...

There is still evidence of culture on Crete. The timeframe doesn't match...but this too may have been incorrectly documented by Solon

The time of the dissaperence of Atlantis is acording to the historical texts around 10.000 - 9.500 BC

Well I think I'll log down now.

I don't think we anytime soon, if ever, will discover the truth about a possible Atlantis.

But there are many coincidences that states there is a possibility of a very advance culture around 10.000 BC - but wether or not there has been such a culture is just speculation.
But his theory of a "superculture" is in my book much more plausible than alien influence Image

Well - for now - see you all soon Image

Everyone else has gone? Image

And why "bitter"sweet?

A new topic? Northern Ireland, perhaps? Or Mahiavelli, or... whatever.

Edit:
@Flagg: Did you put your meat in the oven as well? Image
